let's just say they had no interest whatsoever in watching the womans race and would much rather watch 150 km men race than having to watch the final 30 km of the woman race. sporza trying to be so politically correct is pathetic and thank god those analysts didn't join in

It is indeed ridiculous. They don't have to worsen one product (coverage of the men's race) just because the other is inferior.

Segregation itself is discrimination, so the 'fair' thing would be to only have one race... Or at least admit that one is inferior to the other, and that it is two different races where you can watch the one you prefer without being forced to have that experience compromised with a split screen.

In what way are they worsening the coverage of the men's race by showing the women's race? Because viewing figures for the men's race will go down for an hour?

Don't think the way they're doing it now is great for the classics. Would work better for a GT, (which aren't ridden at the same time partially at the same parcours.)

they are forcing people to watch the womans race but instead they will all zap to different stations not showing the womans race but claim later on they tried and how morally correct they were but just that nobody cares about woman cycling. pretty ridiculous in my book

Ahh, thanks. When I read this:

http://inrng.com/2016/04/ronde-van-vlaanderen-preview

"The Women’s Race will be on TV too as a split screen and in full as a non geo-restricted internet stream, a great example to set for other races. The coverage will show the race over Kanarieberg, Kruisberg and Hotond, then the Oude Kwaremont and Paterberg before the run to Oudenaarde live between 2.00-3.00pm. Enjoy the preview over at cyclingtips."

I took it to mean it would be on the same channel.

Exactly. Everyone can decide for themselves if they want to watch the men or women. I for one will be switching to the women's race for the final 20km or so.

That's seems a light break. It could do with some more horse power.

Leisure ride so far, I'd say.
Some sleeves taken off, some not. Some have broken the sweat others not.

156 k's to go. Break has just over 4 minutes. Seems to be someone in no mans land. Teams generally sharing the work at the front of the peloton at present. Sorry dont know Flemish.
