Of the two Simon's on the team I think Clarke is more likely to do well than Yates. Yates is still young and gaining experience.
There are three of them: Gerrans, Clarke, Yates. They seem to grow on trees these days.

Every female Australian triathlete competing on the world stage has been named Emma for as long as I can remember.

On Friday, during the training ride, Valverde rode up La Redoute at full pelt, with Nairo Quintana the only teammate able to follow him all the way up the climb

Worrying signs, Valverde not as strong as we might have thought. Quintana, who can't climb for his life except in long steady GT moutains, was able to stay with him on this short 2.3 km @ 7.4% climb.

You don't have to worry. Martin and Gilbert crashed recently, Gerrans isn't at top form because of a crash, Kwiatkowski didn't look super at FW....Valverde will be fine. Also I personally would expect Quintana to climb well on a climb like that.

Are you serious?

If you are, then you are definately wrong. While Quintana may prefer longer climbs because he lacks explosiveness, in good shape he shouldn't be dropped on a climb like Redoute, except the couple of seconds he would lose in the hypothetical scenario when sprinting for the line.

I was thinking the same thing. His performances in the Basque Country in the last couple of years show that he can more than hold his own on most short-medium length climbs.

I think I'd be most distraught if Nibali won, but there is mercifully no chance of that happening, with the rider having adopted the Armstrogian peak for the Tour.

Valverde is the clear favourite for this. Kwiatek was quoted in the paper today as feeling fresh again after not feeling good at Fleche. No-one will want to take either of these to the finish. Since rain and a tailwind for the second half are forecast, the attacks could stick though. Astana, Lotto Soudal, AG2R and Katusha will be aggressive. Orica should be a major player, but how they play will depend on how Gerrans feels. Lampre could be a wild card. I hope D Martin is feeling OK after his crash on Wednesday.

It's rehearsal for Sunday, Movistar will go full throttle on Redoute and Roche aux Faucons, with Nairo as a key player

How will the weather be for tomorrow? Hopefully it is frozen windy hell out there. It seems like the only way to get a proper race this days.

I hope we have a 2010 type of race but i somehow highly doubt it :(
