it's unfortunate the weather today. the cobbles will be dry soon

It rained all night. There will be dry parts, wet parts and slippery parts. And no one is used to these conditions in a race. I expect carnage.
when the sun is shining, roads will dry up in a few hours. this isn't italy where roads stay wet for weeks

I don't think cobbles dry as fast as normal road? But we'll see, at least there's some grey clouds in the background so there might be some rain after all. Or I'm just being hopelessly optimistic...

there will be 100% no rain today and according to the announcer almost all cobble zones have already dried up. worst of all we will now have no mud and no dust, because it isn't too dry.

Maybe during the commercials they'll reach an agreement about composition of the breakaway.
Astana should try with someone else. Westra won't be allowed.

All the forecasts I'm seeing say the same: chilly but sunny, 0% probability of rain.

Damn, that sucks. How come it always bloody rains in the lowlands but never when Paris-Roubaix is being raced

I'm afraid everybody will expect from Trek trio to break the elastic with the peloton.

Why do people think Vanmarcke doesn't have a sprint?

Because every other contender (except for Terpstra perhaps) seems to have a better sprint.
that's why he beat boonen in sprint of omloop in 2012

Circumstances doesnt matter to you?

Thats the only sprint he has ever won against another world class classics rider.

Would you say Stannard is a better sprinter than Van Avermaet as well?

Do you think will we ever witness a muddy roubaix?

I gave up any hope ...

I had some hope this week, but to be honest deep down I allready knew it would be dry....

Break is too big, not allowed to go. No Astana as well.

Quite an angle across the road there for the break: are echelons a possibility?

Yeh you can see it almost breaking at points.
