The next two days will be exciting hopefully! AC-menchov clash? The last climb seems to become flatter as it reaches higher though :( Could be just a misinterpretation though :)

I really hope the stream gets sorted out for tomorrow's stage, the final climb has the potential to provide some exciting racing.

oh Im not saying he's not a nice guy. but then you should rather say I like bos because he's a good guy instead of he happens to be born within the same borders as I am ;)

Will you at least be cheering for the Dutch in the World Cup this summer? Or will go for a nice guy nation there as well?

I know him, he'll cheer for the best player, not teams. Probably Messi. Since this guy is a big Maradona fan

But very off-topic now :D

I'm quoting myself :p

The profile of climb made by the race organiser is just a piece of cr@p.

http://www.climbbybike.com/es/ascens...ountainID=4719

The ski station where the stage finishes is at 1750 m. Climbbybike profile includes the complete climb to the mountain pass. The stage finish should be somewhere after km21, as they have to leave the main road to the summit and take a short road to the ski station. I don't see anything impressive in those last 8 km.

From the 2006 Vuelta:
http://www.lavuelta.com/06/ingles/re...s/ind7.asp?e=7

Almost 20 riders in 1 minute!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IgrX7D0mRqo

Watching the video it seems that the last km is not too steep.

Absolutely no mention of Igor Anton save for 1 brief post. He's on good form right now. He'll make some noise tomorrow.

Anyway, another nice victory for Bos. Sunday's stages looks to have a pretty light uphill finish, might not be perfect for him. He's had a pretty decent early season for a sophmore.

Anyone know whether he'll be riding the Giro? Otherwise it'll probably be his last race for a while, since I don't think Cervelo is riding in Romandie (Sastre has said the classics next week are his final prep races). The start is of course in Amsterdam, and there are I think three pancake flat stages around the Dutch countryside which will suit him. He didn't go to the Rabo main squad this year because they would guarantee him a GT start, and I assume he chose Cervelo because they were. Giro then makes the most sense, since Hushovd will do the Tour again, and the Vuelta will be Worlds prep for him as well.

Bos is Cervélo's designated sprinter for the Giro, yes.

Bos vs Greipel could be an interesting fight, and they won't be the only two in the mix. There's always good sprinting at the Giro.

Contador 6th in the sprint.

Destroys Machadooo who can only manage 9th.

Why bother with the Green Jersey at the Tour when it is obviously Contadors for the taking

Must have been out for revenge after Machado got 6th to Contador's 19th on stage 1?

yeah exactly.
Don't get me wrong, if I don't like the rider I wont support him, but there is nothing wrong with showing support for your countrymen riders, it certianlly isn't lame.

he'll be interesting to follow at the giro

In pure speed, I wouldn't count out an multiple track world champion sprint.
Seeing as Cavendish, who wasn't even a sprinter on track (endurance numbers like madison, yes), already beats them all...

Btw, Cervelo will ride Romandie and Bos is on the preliminary start list, just check the Romandie website.

per the official ticker, 6 rider are in a breakaway with 45 seconds gap:

Aramendia (Euskaltel-Euskadi), Kruijswijk (Rabobank), Toribio (Andalusia-CajaSur), Serafín Martinez (Xacobeo Galicia), Reig (Small farm loan bank) and Ricardo Garci'a (Orbea)

it is raining and astana controls the peloton from the beginning.

i calculated average speed at 41.6 km/h (50 km in 72 mins)

i also tested the video link earlier, it worked with the local content well though the race was not live yet. so i hope today we should be luckier !

edit: the escape has just been quashed by astana. (71 km into the race)

In football I cheer for Netherlands because they play most attratcive football and I love the party atmosphere here. but in cycling I care for attractive and charismatic racing riders like Vino, Ricco, many Colombians. I don't know any attractive riding dutch cyclist except Traksel and Hoogerland who I also cheer for.
