Tres americain
Oh wait, I was thinking about Garmin. That other very American team.Moondance said:No. Two between them. HTC have Craig Lewis and a bunch of foreigners, RadioShack have Selander and a foreign legion.
Therefore, two Americans between them.

(Also, there can be denying when you consider HTC is basically a German setup that was inherited - though the teams have an American base, I don't think HTC has the same kind of American identity that Radioshack does)

I disagree with the nationalism part. I take tremendous pride in seeing Americans do well in international competition in sports, whatever you want to call it patriotism/nationalism. I think both can be applied here. You do have an excellent point about HTC, but many do seem to classify them as American. I think America has a bright future in cycling, and I'm proud of how far we have come in the sport over the last couple decades.

How far have you really come? I don't know how many Americans participate in this Giro, but my guess is: not many. There was a time when Americans could actually compete for the win in the Giro.Moviefan1203 said:I disagree with the nationalism part. Jamsque said:The plan was always to give it to Pinotti, some DS or other said that they gave it to Cav two years ago because he was still breaking on to the scene and it was important for his profile, but he doesn't need it now and if he sprints well he'll take it on the next stage anyway.

Good for Humble Tiago! Family Man.

Nibali has what, 50 seconds on the worst (Anton)?
1x Zoncolan and he has lost that time... and we have far worse than that in this giro
I think Nibali is unhappy he didn't even take a minute out of anyone
