This year's tour turds will be fighting over this rotten bone, while the GC boys take 20 minutes or so off.

I think it has the potential to be a good stage, it's only 11 or 12 km of flat after the downhill, according to the profile so not much chance of a regroup. If the GC contenders split the group over the top, then it could affect the standings.

On the other hand it may not. But don't write it off just yet.

Levi is almost 8 minutes down, but that's about 6 minutes down on the contenders. He did okay today. Maybe he left something in the tank for tomorrow? He's a good descender.

If I was the hog my plan would be to get Zubeldia in an early break, then have Levi launch on the Col and try to catch him.

But, it will probably be a boring stage.

Break will form before the intermediate so [Gilbert] won't be allowed in, and EBH or Rojas will beat him in a sprint.

I envision several of the OPL lads leading out Gilbert at the intermediate sprint. HTC then reacts and Renshaw, Goss, and Cav peel off the front of the peloton. OPL hangs on, and when Cav wins and sits up, Gilbert takes off. Given that the sprint is just before the foot of the Col d'Aubisque, it is doubtful whether any team would persue...

To complete my daydream, Gilbert takes S. Sanchez and Leipheimer with him.
