Hi guys! I'm new on this forum. Well stage 13 looks perfect for great descender. I'm almost 100% sure we won't see GC contenders attacking today. I bet we'll see another breakaway getting chased whole day. IMO we'll see Astana trying again to send either Tiralongo or Kreuziger, and definitely Euscatel will attack. My bet for this stage would be on Egoi Martinez

As much as I'd love to be wrong, this will be won by a breakaway and there will be no changes amongst the elite in the GC. Maybe Omega Pharma chase it to get big points for Gilbert at a finish Cavendish won't contest ... but probably not.

It immediately reminds me of Stage 9 in 2009, where there were two big climbs but a 60km run to the finish, meaning the whole thing was an anti-climax.

Carlos Barredo to win from the break.

I could see Moncoutie or Casar winning this.

how is Moncoutie supposed to win a stage like this?

he can neither sprint, descend, nor attack in the flat or time trial to maintain a potentially created gap.

for Moncoutie' is the last chanche to go for the KOM

Why is this his last chance. Surely tomorrow provides a better opportunity with many more points on offer?

This is Moncoutie's last TDF. He will go for a stage win. Whether or not he goes after the KOM is another story.

I would have thought tomorrow was the stage Moncoutie might see as KOM material.
Casar on the other hand.......

Yet, if he goes today, he won't have the legs to try tomorrow, as well.

If i'd be Leopard, i would make the race really hard on the Aubisque. Not in order to drop Contador, but to really give him pain. Then tomorrow they can finish him off. If they softpedal today, he might recover till tomoroww. So give it all on the Aubisque and Contador will be done tomorrow.

Maybe Tony can attack?

Well at least he has a chance to go in a break know. Who knows. With a little luck top 15 is still possible.
he has to show that he's a fighter know. Just give it all everyday. If it isn't enough, so be it. But he has to try!

I think he will be allowed to get in the break today. And yes I agree Leopard should hammer it down on Aubisque.

I would so love to see someone like EBH, Martin, Boom and some french guys go together in a break. The poweroutputs would be massive! The french guys are there so that the three others have something to smoke...

No, he doesn't. He should go steady in the mountains, ride for Cav on 15 and then focus on winning the ITT. Which is what he should have done all along.
