on yesterday they gained 6min in less than 20km

You'd have to expect there'll be a heck of a lot of action going up Sestrières from the favourites today though.

let's hope opl and movistar are smart enough to increase the speed to drop cavendish too. also the next days they can ride him outside of time limit

Personally I dont think there will be any real attacks there. More like a hight pace by the domestiques and then firework on the last climb

There's no way they can do that. Only Evans, Contador, Basso, Schlecks, etc., can do that. How can those 2 teams get to the finish quick enough to eliminate Cav?

They can, drop cav on climb 1 and nail it through the valley dragging the favorite farther away from cav when they do attack

Lol, Greipel will ready send OPL to some place if they up the pace to drop Cav, pretty sure that if Cav finishes outside the time limit Greipel will also drop out

vanendert just needs to pace the first climb and after that the gc teams will automatically take over in some way

Was surprsied as well, but he simply just looked cooked.

They were pedalling for most of the downhill so it wasn't really about being a best descender Savoldelli-style, but being both a good descender AND having enough strength to power away. And Samu was indeed the weakest of the trio so it was no surprise to see him struggle. Drop from Pra Martino is completely different beast - you need to brake more than pedal there...

greiepel is a better climb and why would opl care they want green with gilbert and especially movistar should try for this tactic

Surely Cavendish can do enough to get into the same grupetto as Greipel..

Lol, why would a team care about losing their best sprinter :D
