Indeed. Tho I suppose the 3rd week will dictate those lower positions (top 20). Would be nice to see some good climbing legs from slaughter at some point.

Edit; lol at slaughter . iPad

Slaughter lost 57s today. Not a very good sign. Especially given the fact that he was dangling at the back of the peloton next to hesjedal. They both seemed like they were about to get dropped. Ryder pulled through and slaughter 'blew up'?

Pozzovivo the only who wants to ride and was able too, why did Katusha ride and Astana ?

If they had pushed a bit more it was bye bye Hesjedal and Cunego while now they hung on

Impressive ride by De Gendt, De Clerq (i haven't seen him) and De Greef deceiving...

The problem though, is that I cannot comprehend the high expectations of Slagter doing a good GC. He has never really showed - admittedly, through lack of opportunity - that his recovery is good enough to contest for a high GC placing, let alone in a GT. People should just let the guy ride out the Giro and assess his performance afterwards.

He took it from Giovinco, a soccer player.
They're both making fun of their heights.

Didn't see the stage, but judging by the commentary here, Ryder was in serious trouble. The only hope for him, it seems, is to rely on his recovery and improvement towards the third week. That is, basically hope that the others fatigue more during the next easier stages. Otherwise he will be done, and probably he'll be done in any case.

I still hope he makes it to the podium, though.

Rodriguez will probably take the jersey after the stage into Assisi.

Impressed by De Gendt's results! Good for him. Pozzovivo very impressive too, obviously.
