2 mins and BES go live on the Giro stage 8 ...early! #homeofcycling

Thanks I would have waited until 2:30 otherwise!

Break is under 5 min with 67 km left.

I expect him to understand fully what is going on.
Of course I expect all commentators to be fans as well.

You are right that i dont really care about him coming up with random facts. But I do care that he actually grasps what is going and can identify riders quickly and know their strengths, whether they are a threat etc.

Hmm and here I thought Harmon's lack of knowledge might accommodate yourself well ;)

More and more proof his DS is an idiot then. Also, F.Schleck finished 2nd in the AGR 3 years after his win after attacking on the Cauberg on the steepest part and dropping Valverde, Rebellin and 6 others and only Cunego could follow. That climb is less than 1km mind you

Not to mention his/andy double attack on roche aux faucons dropping anyone bar Gilbert last year in LBL 2011
And later in the race he was the only one holding Gilberts wheel on the Saint Nicolas, another 1km steep WALL of climb.

For me, this is more than enough proof, combined with all his hilly classics performances, that F.Schleck is good on short steep walls.
Prove to me that his DS and you are right. Because I can't see it

Although I do agree in general with your point, I do think the toughness of the route and length of the classics play in Schleck's favour. He is obviously and excelent classic-rider (when he tries), but put the Cauberg at the end of a 150km stage, and he'll probably finish somewhere in the back.

But yeah, him finishing 3rd in yesterday's stage wasn't anything extraodinary if he is in shape.

After watching Eurosport's highlights of the Zulle win, it makes me more inclined to believe that a stronger climber will win it.

Pippo is indeed left behind in a split.

58km to go with 3:40.

Amador, Minguez and Marchynski are left.

What are BMC doing so close to the front every day? Aiming for a Ballan stage win maybe? Seems like alot of work to get Pinotti his top 20...

That stage back in 1998 was way harder than today's though.

Yeh but the finish where the fireworks occured, were the same wasn't it?

Only 2 riders left in the break, amador and Marczynski
