It will be a close fight between me and handbrake.
I didn't expect you, or Handbrake, to be in this position 3 days ago!

Armchair cyclist said:Contenders for the TT (names mentioned on that thread) and those in the top 20 who have chosen them.
Larsson (Froome19, Damiano)
Phinney (Handbrake, dlwssonic)
Tuft (none)
Malori (none)
Navardauskas (none)
Boaro (Whittashau)
Pinotti (dwlssonic, mcmountain, FF'Wilco, Geraint too fast, Tuarts, Mellow Velo, Antonio Rossi, Hilltopfinisher, Froome19, kdc10, evansisthebest)
Clement (none)
Rasmussen (Handbrake, groomy93)
Thomas (none)
De Gendt (dwlssonic, boomcie)
Hesjedal (everyone except boomcie)
Significant likely changes of GC position:
Tschopp to pass Cataldo (bad for Mellow Velo and Damiano)
Henao to pass Gadret (good for Handbrake, dwlssonic, FFWilco, Geraint, Mellow, Hilltop and Froome; bad for Tuarts, Antonio, Whittashau, Chris S and evans)
Henao to pass Nieve (good for dwlssonic, FFWilco, Geraint, Mellow, Hilltop and Froome; bad for Antonio and boomcie)
Henao to pass Pozzovivo (good for Handbrake, dwlssonic, FFWilco, Geraint, Mellow, Hilltop and Froome)
Cunego to pass Basso (bad for everyone except dwlssonic, Antonio, Damiano and asdfgh)
De Gendt to pass Scarponi (good for dwlssonic and boomcie)
Hesjedal to pass Rodriguez (good for everyone except boomcie)
And here is the updated Googledocs spreadsheet so that the rest of us can despair over lost opportunities.

Handbrake said:I think you did with Pinotti winning and De Gendt sliding into third although I don't have a massive excel file to prove it. I was briefly excited when Rasmussen had set what I thought was a good ITT time. Congrats.
dlwssonic said:Thanks, had a close fight with you. You did great too.
Im honored to be the first ever GT cq winner!!
Now time to put it in my signature![]()

CQmanager said:The official update from cqrankings should be available on Monday evening however since Monday is holiday here in the US I will post the official results on Tuesday. If anybody made the calculations feel free to post it here.
BTW Tour de France game will be open on June 19 or 20th and the rider cost will be based on the "Current Ranking" for June 17th.

Armchair cyclist said:A little competition within a competition: how many points will it take to win this?
There are, if 140 riders finish, 10376 points available. Current leaderboard (guessing that Jancouver's rate of scoring can't be maintained) suggests that on stage points and jersey holder points alone, a haul of c38 points a day is not impossible.
I reckon about 1870 will top the final table...
Sylvester said:The ideal team would make more points:
* for example, Basso's 2010 Giro + Rujano's 2011 Giro = ca. 800 + ca. 500 = 1300 for the two big guns (and that's without any leader points, so even 1500 should be possible)
* 3 good GC placings + one or two stage wins or podium placings (from Henao, Intxausti, Tiralongo, Pinotti...) = ~500 - 600 for three medium priced riders
* Goss (or another sprinter): 150 points already, 250 - 300 possible
* 70 points each on average for three cheap pack fillers = ~ 200
Based on these quick calculations, I'd say 2300 would be impressive, but an absolutely great team could even make 2600+. A few teams will definitely make 2000+. I say 2150 will be the value of the winning squad.

I see.Armchair cyclist said:Well, we both rather overestimated the team selection skills of the readership: winning score was 1772, and only 10 people over 1500.

CQmanager said:I'm open to any idea. This is NOT my game. This is OUR game and I'm not even the one who started so whatever you guys will decide on will be implemented (if technically possible). The 3000 limit was based on consultation with Hugo who is the inventor of these games![]()
