Well thanks very much for your note of appreciation of the dozens of hours I've spent producing these updates over the last couple of weeks.

Will you be discontinuing the running totals on the season long game, that does essentially the same thing?

Do you really consider posting the running totals of what will be about 1/3 of the total scores for leading contenders to be more relevant or informative?

Opinions of others please: I have tonight's update ready (after spending a long time, again, calculating and checking it)

Post it for sure, anyone who is following the game knows how strong they are in GC and will have checked the strength of the leading teams anyway. Your updates help to clarify the situation (and highlight possible late chargers)and during the Tour de France game when more people will be paying attention will provide a good talking point.

One question, do you include the projected points and mountains final standings in your rankings?

A final thought, more purchasing power will be required for the TDF game as there won't be the same GC bargains that have been possible for the Giro.

Now you know how I feel .... spending hours or rather days of my time to get the site and games up and running just to get s**t from others ...

Your updates are cool and appreciated I just thought that since the GC is now somewhat done that posting the expected results is spoiling the game but if others are OK with it ... I dont really care

Not sure what you mean by "discontinuing the running totals on the season long game" ... weekly updates to CQ game? I dont think they are the same as calculating GT overall points

I hope that you did not intend that the way it reads: you feel as though you have been treated like **** by others, so you'll do it to me. I did provide the info you asked for the other day about riders that needed to be removed, which required lengthy research.

Weekly updates on the CQ game are scores if that game were to finish last for some reason, and through the course of the season will let some people realise that they are effectively out of the running, and alerts those who are in the hunt as to who their closest opponents are: so yes, what I have been providing is almost identically parallel to that within the confines of a one race game.

(after some delay...)

If the Giro were to finish after stage 19, the leading finishers would be:

1 mc mountain 1525
2 Handbrake 1494
3 FF'Wilco 1472
4 gustienordic 1442
5 Geraint too fast 1401
6= Mellow Velo1390
6= Tuarts 1390
8= Froome19 1371
8= hilltop finisher 1371
10 Chris Schneider 1358
11 dlwssonic 1346
12 Whittashau 1340
13= Antonio Rossi 1310
13= kdc10 1310
15 Evansisthebest 1280
16 Damiano 1236
17 groomy93 1216
18 Hrotha 1205
19 asdfgh101 1117
20 Eric 8A 1089

2 days ago FFWilco was looking unassailable, but Intxausti's collapse through the rankings today hit them hard.

Whatever Hesjedal does from here is rather cancelled out by the fact that all the top 20 have him (HelgeBlender and Nyssinator, 22nd and 23rd in the rankings, have most to gain if he can't get up the Stelvio): Rodriguez, Scarponi and Pozzovivo are equally irrelevant to the battle as no-one still in the hunt has purchased them. Basso is in most teams: dwlssonic and Antonio Rossi are the highest placed of those who didn't select him. Taylor Phinney's timetrial will be of particular importance to Handbrake and dwlssonic.

Yes: for example, those who picked Hesjedal are being credited with 576 points at the moment: 119 for his stage placings, 54 for three days tenure of the pink jersey, 375 in view of his current 2nd place overall, but also 28 points on account of being 3rd (25pts) and 8th (3 pts) in the red and blue jersey competitions respectively.

Sorry that you feel that way. All I was saying was that you are disclosing the final game results. There was no intention to treat you in any negative way. I'm actually happy to see someone else contributing to this game.

In my opinion it is a spoiler and I truly thought it was not right to display the final results here but since others are OK with that ... I dont really mind.

As per the CQ game, I hear what you are saying but on the other hand there is no adding "future" points to the game results.

But everyone above you has Ryder. What you really need is for Basso to abandon: then you are in pole.

Here is the Googledocs spreadsheet to see what other miracles contestants might need.

Basso did badly today and I have thomas.
Even with a phinney or pinotti victory I still don't think its enough I guess:eek:

Apart from Hesjedal all i managed to do well was cheap mountain riders (Rabottini and Pirazzi).

Interestingly i also really wanted Amador but made a miscalculation and thought i couldn't afford him and Henao (went for Pinotti and Carrara instead :confused:)

If the Giro were to finish after stage 20, the leading finishers would be:

1 Handbrake 1525
2 dlwssonic 1483
3 mc mountain 1444
4 FF'Wilco 1416
5 gustienordic 1406
6 Geraint too fast 1366
7 Tuarts 1337
8 Mellow Velo 1322
9 Antonio Rossi 1318
10 hilltop finisher 1314
11 Froome19 1273
12 Whittashau 1273
13 kdc10 1272
14 Chris Schneider 1260
15 Damiano 1241
16 Evansisthebest 1219
17 groomy93 1210
18 Hrotha 1162
19 boomcie 1128
20 asdfgh101 1106

Dwlssonic seems to be in pole position: Basso, who is not on his team but is in every other bar 1 in the top ten, may well slip a position, losing 25 points, but more importantly, De Gendt (boomcie's team is the only other top 20 to include him) is poised to move up the rankings, gaining 45, 105 or possibly even 230 points. Tomorrow's favourite, Phinney, is on the team of both Handbrake and dwlssonic, making it seem unlikely that anyone else will challenge their top 2 placings.

Over to you for tomorrow's final rankings, CQM.

Very interesting last stage.

In the time trial I need Rasmussen to do well where dlwssonic has Pinnotti.

On GC I need Scarponi to hold off De Gendt and Nieve to hold off Gadret and or try and leap frog Pozzovivo.
