Yikes, 6 1/2 hrs + today it looks like

Whilst we are sitting comfortably, let's contemplate our longest non-stop rides.

Mine was 5 hours without my feet touching the ground. (It was in the hot season in the mountains of Laos so no need for P-breaks.)

1 hour. I call it the hour record.

This stage is so ******* boring, and I can say after 10 stages, that except two finish, this Giro is boring. In every stage I can sleep at least one hour without regret it, because nothing happens. I know, that there will be a moutain-full last week, but this is so disappointing. No Zomegnan, no party? After the last two years...

humm.. portuguese eurosport guys talking about the rule that prevents contador's future points from being used by saxo and how stupid and ridicule it is.

faith in portuguese eurosport guys: RESTORED!

If the BOA can't impose an 'additional' penalty on athletes above and beyond the "globally accepted" two year ban, then I can't see why this is justifiable either -

See you in court...;)

Was quite obvious what would happen ever since the route was released. Seems to be trendy to condense Grand Tours into week-long stage races.

Wait for Saturday. That's when the real fun begins.

We should have a sweepstake on how many riders will not start Saturday's stage. I'll start the bidding at 12.

After last year`s gruelling route the race organisers had to tone it back a good bit.

I wonder is there a good chance we could see a more difficult route next year but still not as tough as 2011?

Hopefully so.

The route is still very difficult, one of the hardest GTs of the last decade, it's just all in three stages over four days.

Looks like the majority of people haven't even watched previous editions of Il Giro,2004, for instance. I mean, complain for this year's route is just a blashpemy...

You have right, but it's still disappointing. There is this stage, 243 km long, and all you can see some undermotivated riders, and a peloton what is riding behind the breakaway in two minutes or less, but never want to catch. And the average is just above 36 km/h. It's a joke. I just hope that in the moutains there will be a massacre.

Can someone help me out.

I am listening to live streaming on Eurosport with English commentary. One guy is named Sean, does anyone know who the other guy is? (I am an Aussie so don't know names etc)

Anyway this guys seems to be able to translate a fair few of the riders interviews in different languages so was wondering out loud how many languages he can understand.

thanks

I just wonder will they spread out the mountain stages more and not have them more crammed into the last week.

That would be better.

It would be interesting for the giro to do 3 massive dolomite stages in the 2nd week and then move south to do the appenines and the tirreno hill finishes in the 3rd week.
