Beautiful win by Amador here.

Wasn't he the guy that robbed when he was training in his home country last year? And was left in the gutter knocked out?

Really aggresive rider as well. Always in lots of breaks, so it's good to see it paid off for him for once.

That's right, yea. That was the first disaster of a long, bitter year for Movistar. He nearly won a stage of Tirreno-Adriatico last year but the break didn't co-operate, still held on with the GC men at the end. He was lanterne rouge for a few days at the Tour last year after injuring his ankle in the crashes on stage 1.

Liquigas should really consider not setting the pace for once, allthough this high-pace without accelarations suits Basso most.... So I can see them doing the same tomorrow.

I really hope that the silly games all week have taken their toll on the legs, this stage would have been okay without them. Tomorrow could be harder to control. Are any of Basso's fun police good descenders?

neutralize the stage? since when does liqui neutralizes stages?

Whenever Szmyd gets on the front usually people are content to just follow him. :D

Think Kreuziger in the 2010 Vuelta when everybody followed him until almost the last km or Szmyd on the Finestre last year.

Last years T-A was the first time I actually noticed him when he was in the break. The fact he was Costa Rican with an russian mother got my attention.
Since that time I always cheer for him.

They didn't attack at all. Basso rode pace for a bit then sat in wheels. Before that they were just riding a really high pace, meaning that attacks were unlikely to come off.

Capecchi's decent, Agnoli is very good (was one of the break into Córdoba in last year's Vuelta, with Nibali, Sagan and Lastras).

meh, good ride by Ryder, but the reality is it was allowed to happen because the others didn't (don't?) take him seriously.

As soon as Purito went everyone was off like a shot, shortly after having watched Ryder ride off.

Yeah, but ;)

basso riding high pace for a bit can be considered an attack, he doesn't has any kick in him to attack like contador or purito

He was alone when he reached the top :D

While Liquigas' tactic is pathetic, it's everyone else's fault if they don't race their own way. Surely they have teammates too.

Modern day racing, let some one else do the tactical, just react when needed or not at all.

I suppose that was a bit of an attack. I understand that it makes perfect tactical sense for Symzd and co. to ride a high pace and try and discourage any attacks on Basso so he doesn't have to accelerate all the time, I just wish they wouldn't.

I actually find Kelly interesting. I think it's the combination of a monotonous voice and speaking in the sportsman cliché dialect that makes Ryder so soporiphic. I really like the fact that Kelly thinks before he speaks. It's a trait that I think is sadly lacking in other sports, and public life in general.
