Teams had been told that there would be traffic on today's route.

I forgot to mention that one. It seems that blame goes to the Garmin team this time.

For the GC this is totally irellevant.
There simply isn't one serious GC contender in this Giro who is an above average TTlist. So even if someone like Schleck looses close to a minute on the winner, he-ll still only lose a few second on the best GC guy.

Which GC man to lose most, and how much will it be, to the stage winner and to the first GC guy?
Kreuziger and Hesjedal can probably do a decent prologue. The lightweights (e.g. Rujano, Gadret, Pozzovivo) will probably lose some time.

I will change my earlier prediction of Geraint to Bobridge because i believe they are similar riders/ i hope for Bobridge more.

If Geraint wins ( which he should since he is favourite i do not know whether Sky will win the next stage with Cav ) and his winning the prologue will screw up my stage 2 prediction.

I think bobridge isn't too good in technical

Gadret and Basso. Gadret is awful on the flat, Basso is as unexplosive as they come.

pozzo won;'t do too bad. he has improved tremendously in itt

He did well in the Tirreno TT. Beat Roman K, Scarponi and only a second behind a certain Cadel Evans.

In fact they way he has been riding recently he could well podium this year.

I think you missed the word "serious" in BR's post ;)

I don't know what tommy is aiming for in this race but if its a gc then people would be wise to treat him seriously. On those 2 days he showed arguably more than kreuziger and hejsdal have in their gc top 10s, classic performances and stage race wins.

Some riders do amazing stuff one moment and never recapture it, true, but dg has shown the talent is there.

there was an interview in Het Nieuwsblad today, he said he would try to do a giro like Bakelants last year, he aims for a stage victory and for a good final TT. He doesn't think he is able to go for GC yet, maybe in a couple of years

...speaking winds I just heard on the local radio, that 2 Colnago riders were seen at the main roads around Herning with a speed of up to 80 Kph. I bet they benefitted from tailwind :D

I have to correct that one:
