2012 Tour de France; Stage 1: Liège → Seraing (198km)

Page 5 - Get up to date with the latest news, scores & standings from the Cycling News Community.
Meanwhile, the rest of us will be watching the whole race and peloton.

It will be interesting to see whether Rojas has anything like last year's form, how Goss has come out of the Giro and whether someone like Julien Simon can mix it with the big guns.

Could see it ending with Sagan chasing down Gilbert & the pair of them gaining a couple of seconds.

Chavanel will have a go for the yellow.

Head 2 Head

Who will do best TODAY? And how high do you think the rider you pick will come in the ranking for today's stage?

Samuel Sanchez or Vicenzo Nibali

I am surprised that no one has mentioned Rojas. I think he will be up there and I fancy a top 3 bet at Betfair. I am a bit unsure of what tactics BMC will go for today, but nevertheless I think that Gilbert should be the favourite for the win. Hope I am wrong though and Eddie takes it:D

If Chavanel wants yellow he must attack from fram out because there is no chance in hell that Canc will lose 7 seconds on the final climb. Canc will just power up that short steep section like nothing. I wouldn't rule out a top position by Canc today.

Ok sorry for my stupid mistake, I was just confused by trofionios comment.

You meant at the end of the profile, they interpeted you wrong. The finish is at 204m which in the profile, from climbbybike, is at 1.5k.

Thanks for the info and explaining the situation to me.
Yeah there was nothing wrong with my post they just misunderstood. Maybe Mellow velo deserves the face palm after all:rolleyes:
It was kinda obvious after I had posted the seraing profile in the same post.

They did not misunderstand.

They deliberately interpretted it in a way which made it very funny. It was not difficult to do.

OK...six riders have a 20 second edge over the peleton, but ASO has no idea who those riders are...did the riders leave their numbers at home, or did ASO accidentally give them blank bibs?

The riders who are in the lead are: Gene (EUC), Urtasun Perez (EUS), Bouet (ALM), Edet (COF), Delaplace (SAU) and Morkov (STB)... they are 20" ahead of the peloton at the 4km mark.

Peloton led by 4 RSNT men.

I hate the teams competition.
Why? It actually gives those riders who have otherwise done their work for the day a reason to actually try to get to the summit of the climbs, rather than just waiting for the grupetto!
