Was it a mistake by Sky to not put on of their guys in the break? EBH or Porte for example. Could have come in handy later.

I'm trying to figure out which teams are NOT in the break. Sky, and who else? (I'm sick as a dog, and can barely see, much less think)

Imagine if Nibali gets away on the descent and Sagan waits for him. Carnage awaits! Wiggins/Froome would lose minutes...:D

Damn interesting Evans send out Burghardt and Cummings and Nibi send Sagan... Even Frankie got Popovych and Voigt there to...

Are we seeing an alliance surface?

Please let there be attacks on Grand, please please...

Today is the 11th of July... ;)
We have a powerful group if all are there to make sure things happen, some could just be there to create disruptions. Evident that many like Sagan and Goss are in it to secure points for the Green Jersey race and a few others hoping to take some mountains jersey points. The big question is who is in there to help create a powerful attack by the likes of Nibali, Schleck, evans? I don't see a Lotto or a Movistar in that group

Why should Sky worry? Martinez is the best placed rider with 15 mins back, so they can let the breakaway go with 10 minutes, and then no one can help to the other contenders.

Oops, Scarponi is 10 minutes back, but it doesn't really matters, because after the Giro I can't see that he could be a real contender.

No clue what the opponents tactics are, but this looks stupid.

How exactly are they going to make the race hard to tire SKY already? The weight of the race was already on SKY, so having some nobodies in a break doesn't make them ride a blistyering pace anyway.

Best placed riders:

SCARPONI Michele 41LAM+00:10:27
MARTINEZ Egoi 35EUS+00:15:18
CASAR Sandy 141FDJ+00:19:09

With only those as 'dangermen', SKY can cruise all the way to the Colombier.

Froome and Wiggins will stay nicely tucked away, behind Eisel, Knees and Cavendish for the first 133km; the three of them will easily be able to control the race.

Then they have a well rested Porte, EBH and Rogers in reserve to do the Colombier.

I hope I am wrong but this looks.... boring....

We know the break got the stage already imo.

Nothing Sky should worry though, no-one there a threat to GC.

Scarponi stands at 10 minutes actually. That is still a lot of course but he might pull off what Cunego did in this years Giro d'Italia.

Anyway, Lotto failed by not putting anyone in that break.

Everyone but Cummings, Burghardt and Sagan?

But surely any 25 man break needs pulled back immediately...
