He should also remember it for looking helpless against the Rasmussen/Contador/Leipheimer/Soler attacks in 2007.

Soler was dropped and finished behind Cadel on that stage and Cadel didn't lose a lot of time that day. You are thinking of Plateau de beille.

to be this climb isnt too though as a first climb goes, yes long but if pace isnt high manageable, tourmalet will be the one to crack the weaker guys.

breakaway not working too well so far, most wont ride.

Nah, Cadel still had a hard time of it even though it was probably his best day. Soler attacked many times but cooked himself, even Levi attacked!

Evans might as well just have a go on the Aspin or the Tourmalet. He's not going to win by with Sky setting such a slow tempo and keeping all their riders together.

If a combination of Eisel, Cav, Knees and EBH can get the bunch upto the top of the Tourmalet Sky will be in a great position. Save the best (Rogers, Porte, Froome) for the final two climbs when im sure there will be attacks.

Sky have the jersey so they only have to contain. If nobody else can attack and put time into Sky then it is those riders that should be critisised for being boring and just letting the race run. :D

Is Gilbert that desperate to get on TV? :D

Perhaps he was sent out there to help Evans (should he attack) , or just to test his legs some more. At least with Gilbert, Evans can be sure that the pace will not be too high. :D

Looks like he went out to collect bidons for the others....took on about 5 or 6 just before the top.
