He wasn't hanging around on the ground afterwards and there's been no report of injuries to any GC riders, so I suspect he's fine.

Cavendish seems to do well at not getting badly injured in these crashes (touches every bit of wood around).

He definitely has a knack for not getting hurt during some pretty wooly crashes.

Monday Cav finished 1st, Sagan 6th.

Today Cav crashed, so Sagan finished 5th.

He's found his level anyway.

I think you're reading a bit much into it. Plus, I think Sagan was significantly slowed by taking evasive action to avoid the crash which would have cost him a lot of energy to get back to the front.
