Points for 5th climb...
1. Kessiakoff (AST) 5pts

2. Pinot (FDJ) 3pts

3. Kern (EUC) 2pts

4. Kruiswijk (RAB) 1pt

Kessiakoff has around 15 seconds on the others

Pinot also in there? I thought it was Pineau? Cofidis should do some chasing... Pinot is only 3.35 back from Taaramae

Indeed I forgot about his Tour of Austria win

Well not really a mountain specialist considering he won the TDS TT ahead of Cancellara.

Yes, that surprised me greatly, but it was a pretty tough TT if I remember it rightly? Generally he does it best (without being a specialist, I think you are right in that) when the road points upward. He was 10th in a mountain stage in the Giro 2009.

Quoting song lyrics on the internet is weird.
I'm bored

I'm the chairman of the bored,
I'm a lengthy monologue
I'm livin' like a dog

I'm bored

I bore myself to sleep at night
I bore myself in broad daylight coz

I'm bored
Just another slimy bore

I'm free to bore my well-bought friends
And spend my cash until the end coz

I'm bored
I'm bored

I'm the chairman of the board

I'm sick
I'm sick of all my kicks
I'm sick of all the stiffs
I'm sick of all the dips

I'm bored

I bore myself to sleep at night
I bore myself in broad daylight coz

I'm bored
I'm bored

Just another dirty bore

All right doll-face
Come on and bore me

I'm sick
I'm sick of all my kicks
I'm sick of all the stiffs
I'm sick of all the dips

I'm sick

I'm sick when I go to sleep at night
I'm still sick in the broad daylight coz

I'm bored
I'm bored

I'm the chairman of the... BORED!

He should be able to safely outgun him in the mountains and TT.

Is this stage too tough for sagan?

It matters whether he is up for it going on his past perfomances he probably could survive till the end but he may not want to blow his legs so hard when the stage may very well go to the break.

Will Laurens Ten Dam manage to stay on his bike of the fast descents today?

I get tired of seeing him fall off and shred his shirt. It's portrayed as heroic, but it can only be incompetence.

Somebody at Rabo should teach him the basics of a fast safe descent.

Any of you Dutch guys know why he's such a head-case?

Sorensen and Kadri are leading the pursuit of Kessiakoff who is still on his own at the front of the stage. He is 1'05" ahead of the group of Gallopin.

The peloton was 2'45" behind at the site of the intermediate sprint.

To the Belgians:

What is VDB2 goal for the remainder of the TdF. I think I saw a headline he put the podium or a good GC out of his head and will refocus?

I dont know but I would say he still has a good chance at going for GC considering how many of the other contenders have also struggled and lost time.

The podium is a bit wishful though after yesterday.

The only other things available are Stage wins which are a possibility and KOM which he could go for as well, indeed those 2 could go hand in hand as happened when Sanchez won on Luiz Ardiden last year.

It would seem top 5 being the objective. He wanted to rest his legs today to do good tomorrow. So he's still going for GC. He's only 2 minutes down, and Menchov has shown to be vulnerable... so that would seem like the most logical thing.
