Sagan just does everything right. Most talented rider in the peloton.

Wow, easy there. One of the most talented - sure. But MOST talented? Dude, this is the tour of California ffs

Trying to find new adjectives for Sagan will soon prove a fruitless activity, if it has not already.

All we have learnt is that he is the fastest sprinter in the race who can get over climb. Weve had three identical stages FFS.

It's not like he's only performed in Cali. He was up there in all the classics as well, and he's only 21. What were Gilbert, Cance and Contador doing when they were his age?

Of course it could be this is the peak of his cycling career, you never know, but he has the potential to win so much.

Exactly

How is Peter not the most talented?

I'm not sure he's more talented then Contador, Gilbert and Andy Shrek. Not convinced yet for sure.

Exactly. Even though he's 22 but that doesn't matter that much. There hasn't been other rider this impressive at this age for a long time. One and one doesn't always make a two so you always have to wait and see how it will work out in the future, but right now he's definitely the best young cyclist in the world.

yes..

so if a stage is pan flat, it's boring. cav wins.
if it has a climb, it will become boring. sagan wins.

if is a GT or a stage race with mountains, boring. conti wins.
if it is a hilly classic, boring. gil wins.

if it has cobbles, boring. tom wins.

boring sport, isn't it?

None of them did what Sagan is doing. None.

So Sagan wins three tough-ish stages in California in a row, Gilbert wins three Ardennes Classics in a row, but Sagan's is the more impressive performance. Got it.

Canc, Boonen, Gilbert, Contador etc etc

"Most talented" is a different metric to "better".

The likes of Boonen, Gilbert and Contador are already getting the most of their talent (Cancellara is more arguable although for different reasons). Sagan is a kid who is expected to get better as time goes on.

Now, I'm not necessarily sure that Sagan is the very most talented, but it's a reasonable claim in a way that claiming he's the best rider in the peloton would not be.

Just because you peak early doesn't mean you're better than what the others did. We don't know Sagan's potential or future. But he's the one that hasn't done what they've done already. Not the other way around.
