To be honest ive no idea why they call him piti, clinic related huh?
Only call riders by nicknames to make it look like i know diddly squat about pro cycling :p

Had to look it up myself; apparently the codename for Valverde in Fuentes' records was either '18' and sometimes 'Valv.Piti', Piti being the name of Valverde's dog.

Not gonna happen, btw Alberto looked good but so did Froome, on the big mountains they'll gain minutes. I'm afraid this is gonna get decided in the TT.

there are, even if we ignore the small uphill finishes, some big mountains in asturias and then the great homecoming, the big mountain stage intO bola del mundo, 60k north of little pinto here baby Alberto and baby fran got their first bycicles.

Unsportsmanship got to a new level today. New marginal gain for SKY.

Oh, dear.

Tough luck, Piti. This is racing. Sky was racing. They were racing before the crash. They were racing after the crash. Moviestar has been doing exactly this for several occasions - in that particularly incident it is important to have 'friends' in the peloton and they didn't have that.

Harden up. Move on. Valverde did great to recover.

Alberto has to win that one at the very least. And if Froome beats him there in a sprint I will find him and throttle him. :p :D ;) (And no Susan that is no threat it is a joke, look at the smileys and breathe, breathe)

Are you serious?

Absolutely. I can guarantee to you that, if our boy Danail manages a 4th place in a stage too, he will celebrate it even more enthusiastically. We have never had a cyclist even ride a Grand Tour, let alone get a Top 5 stage finish in one. Likewise, that small Basque team hadn't been in a Grand Tour for many years...

Nonsense.

Why on earth would anyone stop racing and wait? The race was on at the time. Valverde didn't seem unduly concerned at the time, stood round and leisurely got back into the race. Should have raced back then. Too slow Valverde but your own fault entirely.

Crazy day with the x wind/crash in the last 40k here in Spain. We escaped the carnage! Paris-Nice was talked about a lot in our group up the last climb!

seems some of the peloton have long memories as well

What's wrong with Vino and Rebellin? Personality wise, not doping wise. Because they're all juiced. :D

funny, just 4 months ago you were ferociously arguing that Phil was innocent until proven guilty.

What a rider you dont like winning a few races can do to principles, eh,.

Hadn't they already got payback for Paris-Nice, though? It's going to keep escalating. :p

That's how much you nono's understand about cycling. When you have ever riden in a peloton you KNOW when the leader is DOWN you wait.

I don't care one bit about Valverde, just name him by his name and don't be an internet fool and try to be popular with that 'PITI'; Fuentes did too, this was disgusting. Just like Orica Greenedge in the Tour, those guys have no morals.

Exactly, this forum is full of childish fanboyism and double standards.

clenbutador does make a direct mocking link between Contadors name and a doping substance.

Piti is just a dogs name which Valverde used in his doping plan, but the name itself is harmless and has nothing to do with his name or drugs themselves.

Like how people call lance wonderboy, Liestrong oR Lanceypoo - which still mocks him, but has nothing to do with drugs or his name, but arent allowed to call him uniballer or pharmstrong anymore which the mods think go too far.

The point is, there is no reason for SKY to have any fear for a guy like Valverde. Froomy boy will rock him with minutes at any given TT.

How about just calling people by their names instead of giving them pathetic nicknames even a 2-year old would be ashamed of if he came up with them?

I agree, valverde was not a big threat. He would drop eventually on the steeper climbs and in the TT Froome can make up a lot of time.

Now they've made of movistar an enemy, not smart.
