Poor EBH, he needs his teammates to block the real sprinters to win. But it's a good team victory.

I don't get, what's the point of Contador doing this assuming it was his intention which some of you seem to think?

It's way better to start after a low class rider which he might be able to catch, now he's between 2 borgs.

Are there real sprinters in this race?

The real sprinters didn't win because they were at the back of the bunch over the last climb and never really managed to come all the way to the front.

Bouhanni still would have won, if he hadn't been blocked by Thomas.

Not that I care. EBH seems like a nicer guy ;)

There was room if he had the legs I think

What's the story on Kiriyenka? Dead last today and not much better previous days.

Is riding whilst ill and miles below his capabilities really the best TDF prep?

According to Sky he's just tired coming off a big block of training...But that explanation doesn't seem very likely at the moment, surely there's something wrong with him.

Aren't they ALL coming off a big block of training?

why do you think so? What is he supposed to do on these stages instead?!

in Pais Vasco he also lost 20 minutes in stages 4 & 5 before leading the bunch all day the day after

Just a bit odd to finish behind the grupetto. He's obviously very good at relaxing fully when he's given the day off.

@chrisfroome

Super win for Eddie today, especially as it wasn't something we planned on until 5km to go! #EddieTheBoss

Phew! EBH takes a win and Thor can keep up and end in 4!

That was a very impressive performance by sky, reeling it in, and putting EBH in the right position.

Reminds me of yesterday only that they remembered to bring EBH along for the sprint today.:D

His form is probably not good enough to be up front without team support yet.

What a team. Usually apparently they only have planned victories.

How much time will Villieux lose in the chrono then? I reckon about 2min - might stay in yellow for the time being. Tony is way back already so it'll be Thomas/Froome/Porte who'll be the dangers prolly.

Something to point out to Cyclingbews.com:

Jose Rodolfo Serpa Perez is Colombian. This is the second day in a row that I have problems finding him. He is the only rider with no country denomination in your classifications. Please fix that.

Thanks.

Bouhanni was entirely to blame for being in such a poor position in the first place. Thomas is looking in exceptional form, will be fascinating to see what his climbing is like later in the week.
