wasn't really impressive by Froome. I expected a lot more.

Valverde lost only 10s, if he hadn't wasted himself he could've challenged. And Contador was a lot better than expected.

Problem is that Froome won't need to really drop anyone in order to win the Tour.

lol at the people saying Froome only put a lil time into anyone did he even try putting big time in lol, the same guys who were saying Contador has allergies yday, what do you say now, it was an excuse yday lol. Its hilarious Rogers finished 12 secconds down and you lot think this is Froome's best shape, ha ha. 1 last thing i thought riders were rubbish when they left Sky, Rogers looks the same to me, so another middle finger at the Clinic mob.:D

The thing is, froome did not try to put time into anyone. Or at least it did not look like it, he just did enough to deny contador the stage win. Alberto was fried in the end, froome looked a lot fresher.

I'm not saying he wasn't the best today. I'm just getting tired of hearing about Sky superiority in every post, they've won one GT where a lot of the top GT riders weren't present and suddenly they're US Postal going for Armstrrongs 5th TDF.

Fantastically beautiful fight between Froome and Contador. Superb effort by Dennis who overrated himself in the end sadly. Shame on all of you who are able to discern only Contador's defeat

And there will be Kreuziger, Roche and hopefully a healthy CAS. It's far from over.

But it doesn't really matter how strong Saxo is. If The Dawg is much better than Berto, he will win it. Even if Saxo is a team of superhumans

We saw Contador attack and he almost hang out with Froome. Did anyone expect that yesterday?

And he's clearly not near 100%, if anything this stage should give you some hope, not much but still...

No, did not expect this good at all!

Feeling quite optimistic.

But wow, Froome is a jet.

I had to shut my stream down for the last 100 meters as i just couldn't handle the huge amount of joy from the "international" ES commentators.
''And there is the assasin!!!!!!!!''

Really, Froome dawg, you should have given the stage to Busche. Way to get the peloton against you.

lol what did you expect lol, Froome to ride away with 6kms to go:rolleyes:, Froome basically did what he had to do still impressive to take 4 seconds on a low gradient. Froome does not need to attack big time, if he gets attacked though he will respond. He is better than Contador uphill and far beter ITT. What was the excuse yday allergies? dint seem that bad today or was it the fact his ITT is getting worst. Afterall he proved he can hang on well in the mountains even this year, he just does not have the endurance still.

Biggest losers are us saps who sit up in Oz at nights and see nothing but Sky all night on the front... Copy and past tonight into every day of the Tour... I'll be keeping the missus happy all July by waking up in the morning instead of being up to 1:30 AM every night....:(

Great stage, but i will never listen to eurosport commentary again, they think Froome is the new Pantani or something:eek:

Good rides by Rogers and Jesus,Cofidis really impressive too,and Dennis - wow!

As for the Tour.
Movistar has better team for mountains than Sky.Froome's only chance at Tour are TT,he won't be able to drop Alberto in the mountains.
Alberto should only sit on his wheel and attack about 1,5km before finish to distance him,cos Froome is lot better sprinter.but this won't happen,Alberto will attack,it will be fun!:)

Literally only tuned in, in time to see them come across the line. Why does this race have to be on so early?  Will have to watch the full stage later. Good to see Contador still has some decent climbing legs though, and see him not going down without a fight. Froome still looking like the #1 favorite for the Tour.

Looked like a good ride by Busche too, was he from the early break and managed to hang with Contador and Froome? And looked like Dennis put in a good attempt to defend.

#2, #3 and #4 in the GC right now are Aussies. If that happens in the Tour you should be plenty happy. ;)

No pleasing some people. Thought you might have been happy with three compatriots in the first four overall

I expected something like CI. That would have been impressive.

He was only interested in Dennis. Had Contador and Valverde been a lot closer in GC I think he would have taken things on bit longer out.

He looked comfortable and I say he had more left in him at the finish.

Not looking forward to the Tour at this rate.
