Well all other climbers here are either

- Too old e.g. EVans, Scarponi, Sanchez

- Too young to be amazing yet - Majka, Betancur

- Average e.g. Uran, Intxausti

- Domestiques - Niemiec

....

I.e. The field isn't great. Nibs stands out by some mile from them all.

Nibali is in his best form and has just ridden his best time trial. Nothing should be taken away from his win.

It's really a shame that Nibali has won his GT's because of competition being poor/real contenders f*cking up. Gets him too much credit. Now he's going to win the Tour? Come on.

Oh,so poor competition,only 5+ GT winners(im lazy to count it compl.),and 2 last year GT winners:rolleyes:

Nibali almost absurdly good today. Maybe it's the lack of competition, who knows.

Gesink absurdly bad, if we're talking about careers that are over...

Interesting. If the field is weaker than usual, that would make De Greef a climbing Rojas.

Francis can smell the field is weaker, hence the unusual attacks we've seen from him.

There is nothing wrong with the field. Evans and Scarponi have been riding well and two of the pre race favourites dropped out. Most people thought it would be a battle between Wiggo, Ryder and Nibali. Anyway second and third is still up for grabs so the next two stages will still be interesting.

****ing Nibali taking the win from Samu (elipsoid wtf?!), and ****ing Samu for having a bad day on first mountain stage, he would have been 4th and rising...

Belkov and Beletti HD if i have calculations right.

Good pacing by Uran, terrible TT by Cadel. I predicted Cadel to win this stage, haha.

Your above assessment may well be correct, but Nibali has been in good form all year and has clearly been the best rider this Giro. In the end he can only beat the people in the race.

They were not a factor at all in this race, I'm still curious about what happened to Hesjedal though

So pleased that Nibs got his stage win. The stand out rider of the race by a country mile. Great to see such all-round talent getting its just rewards.

Shame we won't see him in the Tour riding with this sort of form. It would have been interesting, but you can't have everything.

Indeed, he has targeted this race since last year, worked on his TT, came in on superior form and has carried that form through brutal weather. CHAPEAU Nibali!!!

But it makes the 2014 Tour a bit more interesting. Nibali sees the Worlds course as his next goal and in this form he would have to be one of the favourites.

Yea,the were not,but because of bad preparation or something else.and that counts. The field was very strong(only AC,CF missing) but Nibali is best prepared,he hasnt done mistakes so far, deserved Maglia Rosa.Thats how it is.
