What about these lol's?Werent they in the race?

And you think they were in shape? Hesjedal has got a problem, so out, Wiggins too. Hard to say that they are a competition for Nibali.

No one wants to say, that it's not deserved, but there is nobody who should be a real competition for him, so beat them by 4 minutes it's not the greatest achievement anyone ever done.
Beat a field with Froome, Contador. That will be big. But beating a field full with seniors and future talents, where Wiggins and Hesjedal wasn't able to give their best it's at least the minimum for Nibali.

Why because someone won a 7 day race in California in a much weaker field than this one ?

I think age is catching up with Evans, whereas TJVG is heading into his prime. I know the ToC field was alot weaker but TJVG looked excellent there. I think this Giro fatigues Evans too much and that will show later in the Tour.

Says the person who said he would not win the Tour continously during the 2011 tdf.

said the guy who claimed quintana and henao would hit the european scene like a rocket. what have you predicted so far?

Will BMC perhaps rethink their leadership plans for TdF ?

Erm, Tejay had targeted the ATOC since last year, whereas Evans was pretty much as last minute add on for the Giro. Not really comparable.

If TVG shows better form than Evans early on, I don't think there will be any issues backing him. But I am pretty sure promises were made to Evans to get him to join BMC and you gotta follow through on your promises ...

Well all other climbers here are either

- Too old e.g. EVans, Scarponi, Sanchez

- Too young to be amazing yet - Majka, Betancur

- Average e.g. Uran, Intxausti

- Domestiques - Niemiec

....

I.e. The field isn't great. Nibs stands out by some mile from them all.

this is very much true and add to that that half the field is sick or has been sick except nibali, evans, scarponi, uran, betancurt. that also coop very well in bad weather don't forget. henao has been sick, wiggins, hesjedal. those would've changed a lot already. also the course until now hasn't been much real climbing and the gaps are already enormous also because of the weather

So pleased that Nibs got his stage win. The stand out rider of the race by a country mile. Great to see such all-round talent getting its just rewards.

Shame we won't see him in the Tour riding with this sort of form. It would have been interesting, but you can't have everything.

exactly. bmc doesn't have anything that can be a factor in the tour. perhaps top ten evans or tjvg at most

Don't know but he was not looking good at all. Looked like he was pushing a very heavy gear to me.

uran was looking very good. I have never seen him in a better style, more fluent than in this itt. I was sure he was hammering it until I saw the split. after the split he kept doing the same and he rode the 2nd fastest, only 6 seconds after nibali.

Ryo, you make make more claims about riders than anyone. And most people when making a statement say, "I think such and such will...', whereas you make statements where you tell people what will happen and berate people that disagree. The fact is that you make so many of these types of statements that when you get something right it's not really noteworthy, and when you're wrong it just makes you look silly because of your "I know everything" attitude. And you do get A LOT wrong

I wouldn't be surprised if BMC aren't LOVING all this talk about Wiggins/Froome for the Tour. I tell you what, if Froome doesn't get outright leadership, BMC may well be knocking on his door....

Too bad more people can't just watch the race and enjoy it instead of turning everything into a pizzing contest ! Most people on here get things wrong.

That would not surprise me with Evans going either this year or next. I think Froome has one year to go at Sky.

Indeed, for example, a certain rider Ryo called "extremely overrated" and a "mediocre climber" is now leading the Giro by 4 minutes :p

Some of the logic used in this thread would mean that noone can ever deserve a GT win, as there will always be someone missing from the field of contenders. People are strange...

It's all about enjoying someone losing more than someone winning. Why bother watching at all ? I have enjoyed the race very much.
