I find it hard to believe that Wiggins lost that much time unless it was a mechanical, or if he lost it deliberately due to Sky struggling with doing too much work?

Didn't watch the tour last year I guess. That's understandable btw

Comment was good for a lol though

Honestly, I wouldn't call that wheelsucking at all as Di Luca was much stronger. Chal took several pulls but they were not as long as Di Lucas. It was obvious he was just hanging on most of the time and had to chase back on to the wheel a few times. In the end Di Luca simply rode him off the wheel when the group was getting close.

Yeah, I agree with this. Plus Di Luca was simply a much better descender and definitely wouldn't have benefitted from Chalapud leading on the descend.

Or he rode like a chicken in the 7km after the top. Maybe just too scared to ride really fast in a rainy 'descend'.

He looked weak from what I could see watching it back. And no of course you don't lose time deliberately to your rivals.

Last 3kms no gaps or am I wrong? Wiggo is safe maybe.

Doubt this wasn't a standard flat stage, same rules don't apply.

But I'm not sure. That being said it seem like splintered groups not due to crashes therefore the rule still doesn't apply.

Uran was there at the finish, so it wasn't like he didn't have a wheel to follow. The team was pulling him until close to the end, so it will be interesting to see what happened.

There was no tv cut to any mechanical, which I would imagine if Wiggins had a problem, so looks like a loos of about 20 odd seconds real close to the finish.

Before we knew Wiggins lost time, most of the people here didn't think it was a lost oppurtunity for Nibali.

But now we know that Wiggins lost time more people think it's a lost oppurtunity :D

Seems weird but makes sense of course.

If nibali loses the giro with 10 sec we might come back to this.

Called it, he didn't look great. Sky was bluffing.

Nibali doesn't have your instincts sadly enough

Evans in the Rossa tomorrow, right?
With his style of always trying to be at the top in any kind of sprint after hills, I could see him staying relatively high in that competition, so we might get to see that more often.

Again stupid expectations.

it seems only you are flipping around, most of us are pretty calm about the result. One thing for sure, more exciting race will be ahead

Sky might btw say it's a flat tire.

I wouldn't necessarily believe that story if it's told like that.

Depends if he lost time because he was struggling on the hill (<5%) or because he didnt fancy taking the wet corners fast, drifted to back of the group and got caught out by a small gap as the bunch came in (~95% chance, excluding a puncture).

Not sure how he could have lost any more through the 4 or 5 corners taken, than what he did lose.

How am i flipping around when i always said he lost a chance here?

There was a brief bit of footage with 1-2 km go when you saw a tall Sky rider at the back of the main group. I assumed it was Siutsou getting back on the descent, but obviously it was someone else.
