Such a shame Kelderman went down in the earlier stages.:(

kid is young, this giro he will learn a lot.

Really hope he can hold his own in the mountains (wont label him a favorite for anything until we see him on the big cols). Looking more and more like a great future prospect.

I'm not sure where peeople get the idea that Wiggins losing time today is no big deal because the TT is tomorrow. The time he will make up is the time he was supposed to have in the bank for when he gets dropped in the mountains. If you don't think he lost the Giro today then you are fooling yourself.

Oh you mean like when Niballi and co dropped Wiggins in the mountains of last years Tour??

I feel like an on form Wiggo could still take the pink jersey tomorrow ... but his condition can't be that great though, getting dropped on a hill by about 25 riders?

Obviously the right call since the Columbians did some good damage limitation on the flat to the finish.
Wiggins's true level remains to be seen, and he hasn't impressed so far. Might well turn out they sacrificed BOTH their plan B and C to salvage a plan A that wasn't going anywhere.

The conservative approach would have been to let either Urán or Henao stay in the front group (personally I'd go with Henao).

But we can label him as TGWK or Keldermerckx?

God, ES is unbearable. "Wiggins Wiggins Wiggins Wiggins Wiggins Wiggins Wiggins Wiggins Wiggins Wiggins Wiggins Wiggins Wiggins Is that Nibali Wiggins Wiggins Wiggins Wiggins Wiggins."

it depends on which one, german one (beats me why my favourite frenchies are showing sth else) has a quite ok commentary and is not that much focussed on Sir Wiggo

Wiggo's left knee seems to be the problem, I think (from looking at the TV though) :D
Beñat leading the GC is quite new to me, but then Movistar must have a good reason to make him the GC leader in this Giro.

The thing is that Wiggins was struggling a bit before he actually crashed. That is a worry.

that is the main point, he did not seem up there compared to the other heads of state BEFORE he crashed

If Wiggo's elbow is sore, then that could be a big problem for the TT

im more interested to see how he bounces back mentally from this, tomorrow.

He looked frustrated and dejected in the final km i thought.

Sky always only has one plan anyway.

I don't like the fact that rain and crashing plays a part in deciding the GC,

Yeah, but that's part of it, staying upright, dealing with the conditions. Wonder if Wig is really hurt or if the crashes and conditions just messed with his head enough to say, "screw it, let's just finish with what skin I have left". Looked pretty treacherous out there, can't say I'd want to be out there pushing it to the limit, but then again I'm not a pro either.

Beñat was in the top 10 last year when he got sick in the stage to Pampeago.

Well expected? Biggest favoruite for GC drops on stage. Clearly that's going to be the mai ntalking point of the day..
There's talking about Wiggins, then there's displaying the blatant lack of objectivity that ES guy who's not Kelly is displaying throughout the whole Giro. Like when he suggested Wigans was doing the right thing to sit up after his crash because he's so smart.

Your the fool only way Wiggo will lose the Giro is if he is hurt by the crash, It's well known Wiggo was the 2nd best climber in the Tour. I also think Wiggo can do damage in the MTT.

I am just gonna come out and say this but cycling is so much more fun when Sky is doing badly.
