Thanks for your kind advice, what you probably do know though is that the Worlds are a bit of a lottery and it's rarely the strongest rider that wins, you can ask Cancellara about that.

If you look at the last 10 editions or so, almost all world champions were at least among the strongest riders of the race, and often they were simply the strongest. Not one edition was "a lottery". Suggesting that it is pointless to aim for the worlds is frankly ridiculous.

Nibali going for the worlds is very understandable. He has got much more to win there (a world title in his own country nonetheless) than in the tour, were his chances are rather small.

Saying that this Giro has been easy

Perhaps competition wise, but not fatigue wise for sure.

Well, about a quarter of the difficulties have been removed or "neutralized"

Yes that was my point, sure the weather would have taken its toll but with little climbing in the last week one has to assume there was no need to dig deep, not to mention the lack of any real threats.

Yeah, he'll likely never get another opportunity to race a TDF after such an easy Giro, so far it's (barely) been a TdS equivalent, he should go for the double!

He can't ride the Tour. His team has promised Jakob Fuglsang to be captain in the Tour.

He wouldn't be Ryo if he wasn't banned this often. We're all waiting for him to get back, to have a shot at him. :D

Any idea how long he's been banned since he showed up at this forum? Must be pretty long

Well its not really acceptable to go around the forum saying that all Italians are a bunch of idiots. Too keep doing it even after being warned about it is just asking for a ban. . .

I have heard a lot worse than that on here where people were not banned. Some consistency would be good.

Funny how this stage which did not take place has iver 10 times as many posts as the Cali one that did.

That Cali stage should not have finished hours earlier than the other stages.

A rider needs excuses for choosing a different schedule? Interesting.
So what were the excuses for contador or valverde or froome not to ride the giro?

TDF is a more prestigious race than Giro

When was the last time the Giro ended up being this flat? When Cunego won?

04 had 2 ok stages in the last week. The only problem was the length of those stages

2002 was kinda bad. 2 real mountain stages

2001 had, uh, 3 stages of note. And even then Simoni was mostly the reason for the action on one of them.

And the Arco stage was pretty lousy. Except for Belli punching Gibo's nephew (?).
