No, they were given the same time as the winner because they crashed after the 3km to go. They were pretty much the last to come over the line so some of them were among the most hurt.

He was just following Stannard tbh, plus he didn't get caught up in any of the big crashes so far so he must be doing something right.

And a big lead is totally useless if you go down and break you collarbone.

Well this way you can still hope that he would have had the chance if he'd ridden on. Whereas if he'd completed the tour you'd merely have had the opportunity to get frustrated that Sky were keeping such a good rider in Froome's train.
