But Nieve should be the strongest man on the break.

many seem to forget the meaning of pro cycling from a managers & team perspective.painai said:Saxo trying to save team GC? Wouldn't protecting 2nd in GC be much better?
Parrulo said:I doubt it. Costa wasn't making any time on Hesjedal on the Madeleinne so he probably isn't very strong today

What team is in second place in the team competition?

Pulpstar said:I'm not sure he wants to go alone, but Hesjedal is cooked and the chase grp is catching. He wants KoM so he has to ...

UpTheRoad said:LOL. They can't be riding right now to preserve the team gc. We're still in the mountains, right? Saxo is worried about it now? Who does AG2R have other than Riblon?
You have a weaker leader in 2nd place on GC, with a faltering rider in 3rd on GC (vis a vis their main rivals for the podium) yet Saxo is riding at this point? Why? Vince Lombardi is rolling over in his grave.

They have a 2 and 4 and 8.. come on what could they use it for..
actually nothing they are here to win, like they did 2008 & 2010.
But everyone seem to forget the point of pro cycling (sponsor time) and sofare STB the team that got most positive sponsor time of all the teams this tour (from taking initiative and breaking froome on flat, and taking the pace against peloton.
so try to look at it from a bigger perspective, its all about positive sponsortime (check some of the sites, that calculate these values) Sky hate all there negative feedback, sky's not here to ejaculate Froome's ego, but to put there sky name out there in a positive manor.
so Again, its about positive sponsortime, not about the win, when you look at it from a team & sponsorperspective.
Saxo got huge feedback and has been the positive-talk of the town this tour, and also why there sponsors these days, are agruing about WHO can get first name next year. (tinkoff tought they should, but saxo now also want more years.. )
so 2 or 4 or 8 aint something to fav partically, a team contest, is better and get on the podium as the best TDF team like they done numerous times before.
so look at it in a bigger perspective if you try to make sense of it from a team-perspective and understand there intention..

Pathetic action on the road again.
UpTheRoad said:Podium in overall GC >>>>>>> 1st place in Team GC.
painai said:Looks like they are chasing team now, individual GC aspirations are over, podium is probably assured, not like AC cares about 2nd or 3rd, gotta keep the sponsors happy
