Sorry this race is over, the first clash of the titans this year!!! Made for an exciting show!! Plus everyone performed well, especially for February.
Chapeau to Froome for his first stage race win. A lad with obvious talent and very well spoken, I like him
This win will boost his confidence and prepare him to move forward.
Alberto has to settle, uneasy and motivated, he will improve for the next round.
JRod impressive, Evans impressive and back on track. Nibali well I was hoping for more, but he gave all he had, he always does.
Oman rocked!!!
100% agreed!
I mean this is just the Tour of Oman huh? A preparation race right?
Pfff well on the green mountain we watched Nibali, Evans, Purito, Froome and Contador fight eachother for the win. I mean that was just amazing stuff by 3 GT winners and 2 guys that ended 2nd in an GT. Just top notch stuff and was really good to watch.
Than the next day Alberto can't help himself on a hilly stage and decides to attack for the overall win and we get another great show.
Allthough we can't deny that without Alberto the race probably wouldn't have been as spectaculair since the guy just has to attack until he wears a leader jersey. Love the guy!
Froome got his first stage race victory which is shocking considering how good he has been since the Vuelta of 2011. Congrats to him and now let's hope Froome and Contador both have the perfect build up to the TdF and both stay safe in the first week, if so we are going to enjoy a spectaculair TdF. Right now I think Froome has the edge over Contador.
Contador isn't the the same rider he was in 2007 when he could attack and keep on racing up a mountain with an 'extra' gear. Nowadays, looking at the last Vuelta, despite lack of race miles there he isn't able sustain his attack, but he certainly is able to keep on attacking. Anyways, if both stay healthy we are going to watch a spectaculair TdF.
Evans is looking good again as well, allthough I don't think he can compete with Froome and Contador, but he has a shot at the podium again this year. Starts his season a lot better than last year and looking at the last 2 TdF winners, both had good early seasons with stage race wins so I guess being good early season certainly tells us something.
Today ended with a win from Bouhanni, big talent that showed he can handle tough finales as well.
Conclusion, this ToO almost felt like one of the big 1 week stage races of the year. Spectaculair racing.
