Wow about 10 spectators there.....what a popular cycling country:D

that doesn't say much though. in qatar people watch everything on tv in their airco filled homes. football is very popular in their stadiums are all empty as wel..

Well I wouldn't like to be out in conditions like that too (wind), so it sounds quite reasonable.

Sky seems to have lost Stannard and Rasch very early on, they were down to 6 after just 3 km's or so. Rasch being dropped is quite expected, but I'm surprised that Stannard did so badly. Wonder if something happened.

I must say that I didn't notice Stannard disappear, but it was clear from the start that Rasch was hanging on with his teeth.

BMC have so many cards to play for the rest of the tour now. surely one of their guys should take hit from here

They have Blythe, but he's certainly not one of the best sprinters here.
Guess i have more faith in Phinney, he went for the bonus second at stage one, that might be a way. And you newer now about the crosswinds.

blythe and phinney can both sprint well enough that one theoretically one could target the intermediates and the other maybe for the final. Yes they wont outpace cav, degenkolb etc in a normal sprint but it may split up again tomorrow and the teams clearly going well

there's not going to be any more wind according to the forecasts

Stannard was there, Sutton + Rasch were left behind.
