If it ends in a bunch sprint, my bet is on cavendish. With boonen, tony martin renshaw and petacchi as lead out, he can outsprint anybody.

Boonen won't be there.

Even without the Pompeiana he's been talking about how this race is still a big target for him and one of the classics he hasn't won yet. I think he'll be out to try to do something to get in a winning break or create one on the Poggio. Will be interesting to see if all his talk and hyping of himself is true or just talk.

Van Avermaet however has proven to be in better condition so far this season. I won't be surprise if Gilbert will make a move on Cipressa, leaving a leading role for Mr second place.

Moderate rain is expected from Milano to right after Turchino.
Then it should clear up. Still chances of an occasional shower in the final part.

Might benefit Sagan above others.

Taking into consideration the defections, it looks like the podium is within reach for Mr. Moustachios

Just went on Paddypower to throw some loose change at Geraint Thomas e/w. but the bet was suspended. Perhaps he's pulled out due to the injury at Paris-Nice?

Mind, you can still get 50/1 on Stannard on this site

Have opted for Vichot instead, mainly because of the jersey if I'm honest :)

Is he trying to style his hair like Kittel's?

I doesn't matter....Cav has been working on his Rubik's cube so he will win the race.

Man, Pippo is such a player. His third Lambo in not many years.

It looked like a Ferrari? Anyway, thanks for the link thehog, great docu.
Cav looked like a decent bloke and I wonder if he can't win it again. Still cheering for Sagan.

I was just reading some stories about last year's race. Don't know if you guys have heard these:

Jay Thomson (MTN) flew in from South Aftica for Milan-San Remo. When the race was interrupted, he couldn't talk anymore nor hold his tea cup. After a hot shower and with new clothes he took the start again, but then gave up 70 km later. However the broomwagon didn't stop for him, and all of a sudden he was passed by regular traffic. Finally he had to take a taxi to the finish for €170.

Jim Songezo (MTN) did not hear over his radio that the race was being interrupted, and instead of stopping he kept going up the Torchino. When he didn't see any other riders around him, he asked at an official car what was going on. The officials sent him back, and he reached the team bus almost completely covered in ice.

No-one makes better cycling documentaries than Wilfried de Jong. I love that man.

You have to love Pippo by the way, showing of his new Ferrari, his third since 2006, then talking about the economic hardships of Italy :D

Indeed.such a classy documentary. Loved it.

It was a Ferrari yes. Agree on Cav, what I always like about Cav is that you can feel the love he has fpr the sport. He is quite a romantic when it comes down to talking about cycling.

It were Ferrari's indeed. The people taking care of the subtitles obviously never heard of the brand, as they translated F430 and the 458 as 420 and 485 respectively :)
