Who's that Cannondale rider that is the last guy on the road? Ted King? Whoever he is, he'll be in serious trouble to avoid HD.

I'm starting to get intrigued by this stage. If the two groups connect there are a fair number of capable climbers there... could put some pressure on the peloton earlier rather then later.

Tinkoff plan A blown to pieces (Just go full gas over last few climbs)

Astana can just sit back.

Tinkoff need to pull back Kwia ?

He lost time on the first road uphill so he is probably attacking because he feels bad, Hinault-style. No need to work too much for nothing, just keep an eye on things and hold it within distance.

Kwiat isnt good enough to make Saxo, Astana, Movi or Sky chase, but I could see Lotto, Garmin and BMC not wanting him to get too far for the minor placings.

Where are all those incredibly clever people who said it was a waste for Astana to give jersey away as Lotto wouldn't ride?

Wasn't it just some time ago that Ted King fell outside the time limit? Everybody was like "Let Ted ride on.". Seeing this happen again, maybe he's just not made for a GT (even if it's just the beginning of week 2).

that was because he had a seperated shoulder and missed the time cut in the TTT by 7 seconds

I'm getting that feeling, unfortunately. :(

I hope Ted makes it

If he doesn't it's perhaps a sign that he should lay off the pancakes

He's never going to make it :( over 100km all alone, with several 1st category mountains to go :(

Ok, what's Westra doing here? Trying to go solo that early doesn't make him a good launch pad for Nibali later...he'll be spent then.

Agree it was a good move by Astana.

I think it might be a little early to draw the conclusion that lotto gonna do the work today.

Not sure Lotto have the team to pull all the way to the finish at a pace that Tinkoff will be happy with.

He doesn't want Kwiatkowski to join obviously

I'm thinking the same thing. Not sure I understand the tactics here. Unless he's channeling Vino :D

If the GPS is correct the peloton is getting closer. Someone is making tempo there.
