Ok, what's Westra doing here? Trying to go solo that early doesn't make him a good launch pad for Nibali later...he'll be spent then.

Hopefully he's trying to win the stage

I love the fact that a rider I dislike (Voeckler) will hopefully get his a*** kicked by one of my favourites (Rodriguez).

King out.

Was he injured or something like that? Because dropping out so soon on the first real mountain stage is a bit embarassing

Shed some dead weight because cooperation in the breakaway was poor.

Where are all those incredibly clever people who said it was a waste for Astana to give jersey away as Lotto wouldn't ride?

It’s not about being clever, it’s that many here like to support their favorite rider and lose objectiveness quite easily… like happens to me as well.

THE question of the day now: Gallopin in yellow tonight => Yes or No? No for me and it will be Nibali.

To be fair, I don't fully understand the yellow jersey dynamics. It seems more driven by tradition than optimal tactics ("if you've got the yellow jersey you need to defend!")

No yellow jersey -> no podium ceremony + no antidoping control + no interview in the press room -> get to hotel 2 hours earlier. It's that simple.

Im pretty sure if Voekler used all he energy he puts into pulling those faces into riding he'd be a multiple GT winner

Obviously the timing was incorrect

The gps is jumping about all over the place because of the weather. The gap between martin's group and the peloton has jumped between 40 seconds and 2 minutes on one refresh.

Was actually in the Schleck crash on the London stage a week ago, dont know if he had been struggling since then. Was last overall before today's stage. Cheng is the new lanterne rouge
