Reminds me of the Giro where the other contenders sat and watched Quintana win the race expecting Majka's domestiques to chase him down

But it is also quite nice to see Martin destroy the other breakaway riders on his own :)

Very true, Frenchies on ES are more than ****ed because the breakaway does nothing. Virenque does not get why EC worked and now Pierrot does nothing
Will be agreat win for Tony

Put half your team in the breakaway. Get time taken out of you on every climb by Tony Martin anyway

Purito sprinting for KOM points, i like that good to see a true climber chasing the polka dots.

Its been a fairly tough first week plus with tomorrows stage it is probably no real surprise that teams are taking it a bit more easily today.

What a disappointment this stage. But my own fault for trying to make more of it. Serious GC contenders and saving their bodies for stage 10.

Go Tony Martin!

Ever given a thought to Europcar bringing Rolland back in contention for a top spot rather than actually chasing Martin down? Maybe they're looking at the overall picture over just a stage win.

If others from the break want to win then they should start chasing Martin on their own.
