jens, this time you are not right.he cant bounce back in few days,he fell in some 60kmh,he said he hurt his ankle and knee, plus bruises etc. there is no way he will attack in coming stages.

Funny eh. I'm sure Quintana told Ryo personally what's wrong with him.

Yes. Nairo felt that the statement to his employees was so over the top he needed to tell the truth to good old friend Ryo.

And as we speak i've got two missed calls from Alberto. He just cant stop callling. Says he'll attack tomorrow on the answering machine.

so evans is a better rider than horner because evans is 37 and horner is 41?

Horner is the exception to the rule. 1 out of many, many, many riders who haven't seen a downturn as they progress in age. Usually either clinic fodder, or a late start without the amount of GTs early in their career.

Evans has been riding 1-2 GTs a year for roughly 15 years now. Horner hasn't. In that regard, a rider like Horner or the French rider who finished 2nd to Nibali in the Tour is not going to see their skills deteriorate at the same rate as a normal rider, who in this era starts to see a decrease around 35 years old.

Gesink has private problems. Might be the reason he forgot to take off the cooling vest. He said he found it hard to focus and his thoughts were all over the place.

Isn't there someone on the team who is supposed to see it before he goes to the podium?

I'm hoping it's not related to his heart again. Please keep us updated in case you know more.

Was wondering what that was about. Hopefully it's nothing serious.
How his team didn't notice him about the vest is weird though.

On Horner, there is a thread for him in the clinic which better sums up my thoughts on his performances since leaving Lotto. This exception to the rule myth keeps being repeated but doesn't wash.

On Evans - his first GT was 2002 Giro - 12 years ago - not 15.

Anyhow, that was the best TT I've seen from Cadel for some time. Good sign for the worlds I think.

Wow, Sammy Sanchez over 40 sec faster than Froome and Aru beating Malori and Rohan in an itt, who would have guessed that :)

Don't know if it's been mentioned yet, but Cancellara got a 7 second penalty for drafting. I guess the commissaires are getting ****ed off with his whining as well.

Considering how ridiculously close the bikes were sometimes today I would really like to see an example of this drafting.

Ah, he drafted Popo. Okay then. One of the few things that Popo is still good for

Navarro must be laughing at Canc receiving a penalty for such a short draft.

Froome says he went off to fast before the climb, perhaps his form is not as bad as this TT suggests

He went off at a pace that he was able to do when he was in top shape (ie near Tony Martin performance shape) unfortunately he is nowhere near that level of form so he quickly paid for his efforts.

but...

FuerzaNairo!

are you for real? he is 3 and half minutes down on best rider of this generation,7 gt winner,he is injured, and he should be a domestique.how is he supposed to win?
this is contador,no shiity wiggins or nibali...

Yes I am for real. I don't think he'll do it myself. But I don't think it's a given that AC is in tip top form for two weeks.

I hope there is life left in this Vuelta yet.

As expected Froome loses time. I don't know why people thought he would somehow win the tt today or something. Its the race of truth and Froome is no tt specialist. He won tts back when he was destroying everyone at everything. He won tts because he had so much more power than everyone else.

Same as Contador. Same with Evans and plenty of other gt specialists who did well in tts. When you see the mountain form isnt there the tt form wont be there either.

Contador is merely on slightly better form than Froome right now so he will perform better in tts and perform better in mountains. Contador isn't top form either though because if he was he would have taken time on Sunday and come very close to Martin today.

I know what happens if you laugh at a crash but this is not laughing this is just pointing out how pathetic it was completly is own fault.

Let's see you apply the same wording when describing Froome's amateurish tendency to not watch what is going on in front of him.
