Surprised that Lotto didn't try to put a rider in that group. They have three strong riders here.

Was that Costa reentering? Why'd he get dropped?
Crashed out by Caruso

Thanks, but that was Polanc in the break and hasn't rejoined. I saw Costa rejoin the peloton.
Mechanical maybe? If he rejoined when they were going so quick he couldn't have been dropped on account of bad legs.

Just good tactics, that way they have more chances of getting dropped three times on the Cauberg.

The race was over after the cauberg so your point is irrelevant.
Carstenbf: I bet on Valverde to win the race.
Miburo: Valverde never beat Gilbert on the Cauberg so he shouldn't be your top bet.
Netserk: Valverde beat Gilbert in this race in 2013.
Miburo: Not on the Cauberg!
Mr. White: Race doesn't end on the Cauberg.
Miburo: IT DOESN'T MATTER, I'M IGNORING THE FACT THAT THE CONVERSATION WAS NEVER ABOUT BEING THE FASTEST UP THE CAUBERG BUT ABOUT WINNING THE RACE.

Fact is that after the cauberg gilbert, piti and gerrans were looking at each other. Kreuziger already won.

Piti never was able to do something about gilbert on the cauberg and being the best on the cauberg most likely means you win the race unless someone is ahead.

Why the caps?

The break's dying with long long to go.
After Kreuziger nobody in the pack will let a break get a long leash on this course.

AGR never disappoints as an absolute *** race. First order of buiseness is to ride it with 5 man teams and remove the whole last circuit of the race.
Can't believe that this is the "Dutch classic"

Alex Howes playing a very clever game
Why? He has 0% chance of winning no matter what he does :D

Technically he had a tiny chance of winning if the break stayed away and none of them tried to drop him on the Cauberg. He was the best sprinter there, ahead of Tanner and Clarke.

For Clarke to be attacking makes me think that either Matthews is not good (or is so good he will be able to follow Gilbert without any problem)

Cauberg should be a hill for valverde but for whatever reason he always failed on it. Always...

Even a *** gilbert does decent on the cauberg, the hill is made for him. A good gilbert willl never to lose anyone on it. And after him they'll never work together to get him back since piti will be in the group and he doesn't work and why work with him?

At least nibali tries something. All of the rest (non hill sprinters) waiting to get destroyed....
