All this uphill sprint hating. I love a good old uphill sprint finish.

me too. nothing better than tuning in with 20 k to go without having to worry about missing something.

If I want that I'll watch a 20k half-marathon.

Hey, at least we got a move that was some way meaningful before the final climb. When was the last time we had that in Flèche? That was Fabian Wegmann, wasn't it? That was 5-6 years ago now.

They went pretty hard at the penultimate mur in 2010.

Haven't you heard? Sprints suck, time trials suck and climbs suck unless someone attacks 450kms from the finish.
Hipster cycling fans: nothing's good enough.

Negative racing sucks, which is what 95% of the peleton is keen on doing cause getting 12th place is more important than having a 5% chance of winning
Which is why the UCI points system needs to be scrapped.

I don't really care about the UCI points, so correct me if I'm wrong: a couple years ago they got rid of points below 10th place to encourage attacks; did they go back on that?

Weird to answer myself, but I felt like checking. Pts down to 10th place for this, and below 7th the points are so few no team leader would care.
