Nope.

God I hate these stupid crashes. Aru looks more than happy with the pink jersey, enjoy it while you can you stupid donkey. Who would want to take the jersey this way????

Crashes happen in cycling. Vino broke his leg in 2011. Be happy Contador isn't hurt. As for Aru, of course he is happy! He was close enough to the top to benefit from a crash.

Ofcourse it's not. It's only a big deal who care about useless statistics.
It was a fun statistic and now it's gone. That's all. I care more about if he is in good health so he can keep his focus on the big goal for this year. The double, far more important.
Alberto himself cared about it too, and he even said he doesn't give a crap about record books, so it was clearly something special.

Yeah, it might have been a big deal to him. But you have to deal with reality, he lost the jersey and he as to turn a negative into a positive and use it as fuel for the TT tomorrow. That is how you have to look at it.

And as been mentioned, his health status is more important.

Bertie on TV looks a bit dissapointed to say the least. Something about his shoulder came up again.
Of course he's disappointed, he's no longer the "greatest defensive GT rider ever"

Ugh, I've heard that talk as well.

One of the biggest reasons why I've given up on most other sports is the darn drama. Everything has to be the greatest/best/biggest/most epic yada yada yada. Too much drama, too much hyperbole.

I love cycling and this is a major reason I don't want it to grow; when sports gain more popularity, they have a funny way of starting to suck.

Contador was on Juul-Jensen's bike.
Makes more sense time-gap-wise. Bergonzi @ Gazzetta had said it was Pozzato's. Anyway, it only reinforces my point.

Uran will be 1st or 2nd after tomorrow. :D

Good chance to be first now that he got some time back on Contador.

second.
I'm guessing second or third, depending on everybody's actual health/form (Contador's shoulder, Uran's everything, Aru doesn't look right either). Unless Aru not only recovers his form but hits new peaks, barring crashes/injuries/penalties, a great showing by Uran might be the only thing that can make the GC race somewhat interesting again (not that I'm impartial).

If you don't give about record books, why would you give something about a statistic like that?

Winner of the double, in a time when it's considered impossible to do. That's something really unique.
But that is unlikely to happen ;)

None of this matters because Aru can't TT! He's going to be lucky to be still in the top 10 after tomorrow...
Lol,avatar bet on that?
Bet on what, the fact that he can't TT very well or bet on my opinion that he won't be in the top 10 after tomorrow? I pick the fact that he can't TT very well.. I'll find a good avatar for you, I promise. lol
Of course on that itt, you made a laughable predcition...thats why I wanted to bet on that (non) top10 joke

It was about respecting Rosa, not records imo.(he doesnt care about them like you said)

Because it shows what a great GT specialist he is when he's on the defensive. You WILL NOT take the jersey from him unless you can wrestle it out of his dead arms. We can't say that anymore. It is something that made him special and different from other multiple GT winners and it's sad it's gone.
& the 17 stage streak is gone too

Yea you can fleur, unless you talk with a 5 year old, you can still make that argument.

Re: 2015 Giro d'Italia, Stage 13: Montecchio Maggiore - Jeso

Aru is 24, he has dreamed of pink as long as he can remember. Let the man enjoy his time in that coveted jersey. At some point in the years to come he will wear it on the final podium. As long as Contador is physically okay he will have it back soon enough.

Re:

I can't believe people blame aru for smiling having the jersey.

The guy has prob dreamed about this for more than 15 years and he finally has it. He knows he'll lose it tomorrow so he wants to enjoy the moment.

Crashes happen, it's cycling.
Yeah, good for him cause he's going to lose it tomorrow by 2 minutes. He gets to wear the Maglia Rosa for one day - As a young rider, I think it's good for him that he succeeded doing that. Will be interesting to see if Uran Uran can bounce back and come within reach of Contador by the end of tomorrow. Porte looks like someone who's about to quit the race

I am happy that Modolo got his win, but must say he is quite a messy sprinter. Can't sprint straight it seems...

None of the Italian sprinters can sprint in a straight line. Take a look again at the final kilometer and watch Hofland. He wanted to pass some of the guys in front of him, but was just blocked.

uh no

I guess you're the 5 year old then.
How can I still make the argument? I can't just say "he's never lost the lead" because that's not true.

"He never lost the lead despite that one GT where he dislocated his shoulder twice and despite that he still held off a very strong team until he lost the jersey cause of crash in a flat stage at 3.3km. But the next day he got it back crushing the ITT"

If no one understandS that point, then you're discussing with really dumb people hence your fault for even trying to debate with them.

I got home early, and went out for a ride, thinking nothing would happen today.

This race is nuts.

It's been the best grand tour to watch for many years now. I thought when Zomnegan left it would get boring, but it hasn't.

Lesson #1: if you ride too far back in the peloton, expect to be caught up in a crash or two. What a day!

The way Contador rode in yesterday and the day before, the next two days will put him back in first. The only question is will he take several minutes as revenge, or just do the slow-drip damage over days.

Of course, but I don't like arguments like that. If if if but but but. It's stupid.
However if he wins we can still say "In every GT he took the lead, he won the overall" but that just doesn't sound as good :(
And I'm sad he won't get the 17 stage streak :(
And I'm sad he won't ride the TT in pink :(
To summarize, I am sad :( :p

If you ask me, it's perfectly fine to ride more in the back of the peloton, where there's a bigger risk of getting caught up in a crash, but a lesser risk of crashing yourself. I just wish the riders would just accept the consequences of their strategy instead of automatically blaming everything on bad luck.
