Boring stage but great win for Landa. He's really strong, too bad he needs to stop after every attack to check on Aru.

Amador already descending and not warming down :( This will cost him the podium obviously.

A lot of movement in General Classification!

I think it is now :

Contador
Aru
Amador
Landa
König
Trofimov
Caruso

did Geniez jump to 8th, too?

Did Contador tell Aru to let Landa chase down Trofimov to get the stage or he would attack drop Aru and win the stage himself?

Idk if contador could do any better, he might have pushed it a bit harder but didn't wanna go in the red.

The week is long....Contador doesn't need to go full tank today. He has beaten Aru mentally and he knows he is suffering as this Giro is going by...he has plenty of time to attack yet

Great win by Landa, nice ride by Trofimov, decent by Aru. Contador gained time on Aru but he still doesn't look fantastic to me, I know Astana was double attacking, I'm not sure he will win a stage this Giro.

Why the hell did Contador not attack?

He did. Landa marked him easily.
I know what it looks like when he attacks, and I did not see it today.
Against non-Landas, today's measured attack would have worked. Maybe he doesn't want to burn all the matches. Clearly, that would be necessary to get rid of Landa who is climbing super strong. If indeed he an drop Landa.

Astana is in a bind. It's like Sky 2012. Landa could easily drop Aru, but he's too far back to win the Giro, so what do you do. Take the long shot with Landa, or stick with the back and forth attacks with Aru?

As far as Contador, he did attack once, but it was FAR from full gas. He's too smart to do that with many hard stages to go. I'd be surprised if he doesn't put in at least one major attack and drop the entire field at some point however.

I thought it was obvious Astana purchased the stage from Contador. Lots of chit chat between Landa and Berto when Trofimov was away.
