If Contador is serious about the double, he'll want to wrap the Giro up as early as possible.
The succession around the second rest day is when the race should be decided, rather than a week later.

He might lose time to Porte and/or Urán in the time trials. that looks promising for the mountain stages.
The team time trial shouldn't make much differences, and there's plenty of the road before the individual. That individual is really the breaking point of the race... it's almost equally important with what time gaps they'll start it, as it's where they'll finish it. It's giving the race a shape.

Stage 7 is a sprint stage as well Hitch.

And stage 3 resembles stage 2 of the 2013 Tour de France a lot, which ended in a 90men bunch sprint, 1 second behind Jan Baekelants. So, I won't be surpirsed if we see half the peloton sprinting for the stage win

I'm fortunate to be in Italy for the first week of the race, does anyone know where to find the road closure schedule? particularly interested in the stage to Abetone.
Thanks for any suggestions anyone might have.

I hope tomorrows stage features a strong break. that could mean a harder race over 265 km, which I really like

It is a good Giro for Hesjedal, the big stages are at the end, there is a long ITT, He could win again if luck come back to him again.

Good for him yes, but i believe his win was a one year wonder fluke. I don't think he'll ever win another stage rage, nor even a race for the remainder of his career. The peloton is a bit too tough nowadays. I never see him making an impact on race last year or this season so far. He is an "also ran" and will remain that for the remainder of his career.

Wow, Contador hurt and there was a gruesome imagine of one of the racers on the ground and it looked like his arm was broken the wrong way. Having broken a leg and a collarbone, I hate seeing guys injured. Ouch.

Tomorrow 264 kms. What it looks like a simple stage might end up being more complicated than expected.

yeah, just a bunch of boring sprint stages really. a couple stages could give some good racing but i doubt it. then there is the time trial which will be hugely interesting in terms of results but given that it's a tt, not stage you want to actually sit down and watch

Possible cross winds on 10. Then two stages where the fight for stage-honors will be good, even if there is no GC action.Stage 13 has to happen, and at least we'll get some nice helicopter shots.

Could be worse
