Danish ITT:

1: Juul Jensen
2: Quaade
3: Würtz-Schmidt

Juul Jensen is brutal. And free on the market for next year. Tinkoff should re-design him for sure. Or else I think Sky will try to get him.

He could turn into a Thomas type of rider if he is developing further the next couple of years. Very could against the clock, sublime pacer, decent climber, aggressive and fast on the cobbles.

What's wrong with his current design?
Except for that silly long hair of course. :p

Say what? :D

Edit: Ah, I meant re-sign. But if he was going to a team like Sky, they could re-design him for sure!

Maybe he just means it would be a pity if he chooses to go to another team?

Yeah that's what I'm thinking/hoping too.

Does he have a thread?
Should one be made?

Sounds like Juul is going to another team.

Good to see Lutsenko carry over his form. I really really really hope he wins a stage in the tour.

"All the best" sounds like he will leave.

Irish ITT

Ryan Mullen
Eddie Dunbar
Martyn Irvine

Irish nationals are getting like the Lord of the Flies these days, a barbarous place inhabited only by savage children.

Last year there was some controversy when 19 year old Ryan Mullen set a faster time than the elite champion but was only eligible for the u23 TT title. He made up for it by also winning the Road Race event, in which for some reason he was eligible for both the u23 and elite title. In the year since, Cycling Ireland fixed the anomaly and now u23 riders are also eligible for the elite TT championship.

Cue this year, a now 20 year old Mullen finishes first, followed by 18 year old freak of nature Eddie Dunbar in second. At least the emergence of Dunbar means that Mullen might have some competition in what was otherwise shaping up to be a fifteen year reign of terror.

Yes, there is a lot of rumors that he will go to Sky and already has signed. Good replacement for Pate IMO.

A good signing by Sky, but they must have offered him quite a lot of money because that's one team where he won't get any chances to ride for himself ever. He's an all rounder of a sort who rarely gets many chances anyway, but whatever ones a rider of his ability might get anywhere else will go to the likes of Thomas at Sky.

He can still get a few chances in local races such as Tour of Denmark, ITT and small non-WT races. You're right about that he role will primarily be similar to that of Pate, Knees or Eisel.

But who knows? I think Sky could turn him into a strong rider.

Irish elite RR times:

Ryan Mullen (An Post) 47mins 46secs
Eddie Dunbar (NFTO) +25 seconds
Martyn Irvine (Madison Genesis) +46 seconds

I'm even more impressed with Dunbar's time than I was with his second place. I'd initially thought that it might be a bit like the British TT, with about a day and a half between first and second. But getting within 25 seconds of Mullen, who just finished top 10 in the European Games TT and lost out on world u23 gold by half a second last year, is pretty amazing going for an 18 year old climbing specialist.

Stickybottle notes that for a couple of days at least Mullen does actually hold the four titles he should have held all year, u23 RR and TT and elite RR and TT.

Why are you talking about it as if it's been confirmed? I've just seen 1 guy mention it, it all seems to come from him
