I think Dumoulin just hadn't enough recovery since Tour de Suisse.

I find it weird that Italy's road race is on a Saturday and not a Sunday like the majority.

The Italians just have to be weird and different from everyone else. :p

Stannard for the UK title I think.

Would love that, but surely he'll have to go long? Can't see him winning if they're all together up the final climb of Michealgate. Maybe him and Cummings will form a dynamic duo

I would have thought it'd suit him if he went hard after the climb with a few laps to go and could get a gap, would be good to see and it's certainly a course that suits him. Even if they're in a bunch he's quicker than most people think (GVA and Terpstra found that out) and a short, steep cobbled climb could play right into his hands. Just don't know how fit he is at the moment.

I've a feeling Luke Rowe could be the man this year... he's going well and never really gets a shot with Sky (unlike Stannard, Kennaugh or Swift). Throw him a bone.

I've never liked the idea of gifting someone the National Championship, even though I know it regularly happens. I think it's the one time they should all be allowed to race each other and have it decided on merit. That said, I think Rowe would have a decent chance whether they raced for him or every man for himself.

How many TTs are on the program for today? The French and Danish, it seems. The Canadian too?

And can you watch them somewhere online?

i'm sure links will pop up for the road races but not the time trial.

Last year for the road races i Had the British, Belgium and French streaming at the same time. Wish I had 3 computer screens to put one on each one :p

Now that's awesome! I'd like to do something similar this year. Sitting on a bike trainer while drinking energy drink or coffee and watching as many races at the same time as possible.

Are they racing the British TT today? Dowsett have to be mega-favorite (if he is racing and unless Wiggins is racing) now that Thomas is out.

It's kind of pathetic Alex Dowsett is the only WT rider in Britain's TT nationals. For a country that has won a world class number of races in the last few years, or even just the number of races British riders have won this year, their field is so shallow. I wonder if their domestic scene has 10+ riders who could be on the WT level, they just haven't been noticed yet, or if there have been genuinely few but very talented riders emerging more or less at once.

I think a major factor is they know they can't beat Dowsett. They would rather rest up for the road race. The top three in the U23 TT on the other hand were separated by 18 seconds (Davies, Doull and Geoghegan Hart).

Yep. Only British rider who has a chance of beating Dowsett is Wiggins, so why bother spending the energy if you have other races coming up.
