I won't be watching this, or any other stage where froome is likely to figure. I might watch the hillier stages and the final one.
Te vas Zapata?

I'll let myself out.

I can only assume he said the same this time last year, because Froomes numbers are the same as Nibalis, I would be staggered to hear someone on this forum has a bias against Froome, it seems a crazy thing to say

Yes, for 10x the time. That's the difference. Also, Nibali showed to be a great rider since a very young age (like gifted athletes do, after all). Since they all train as much as their body can handle, it's all about genetic luck and tactics. At least, that's the way it should be.

Mods: Sorry, I hope no line was crossed. I'm trying to be as ambiguous as I can (...)
Well that wasn't so ambiguous.

It's not that hard dude, if you can't leave doping out of your posts, you post in the Clinic. Can't be that hard can it?

So you are telling me that we can actually have a smart discussion about how this race (specifically this stage) might pan out without everything being clinic-related? If that's the case, ok. I will procede to delete my account.

I'm not investing on my education so I have to deal with BS like this. It's pathetic, actually. A site with "news" on the title, doing their best to germinate hypocrisy, ignorance and stupidity.

And since you are a moderator of this forum, and a "fan", you are the problem as well. Thanks for helping ruining the sport.

Then delete your account, or go post in the clinic. It is perfectly possible to discuss a stage and the related tactics and likely outcomes without discussing doping. If you are incapable of following the rules you will be doing everyone a favour by not posting here.

My thinking for this stage - there will be an initial break but a team like Europcar or Trek or FDJ or Garmin will peg the gap and then their climbers will attack and try to bridge on the Col d'Aspin. One or two GC fails will attack near the top of Tourmalet for the descent but the Sky machine will mow everything down in the valley and on the final drag. Finally someone a little bit down on GC will attack for the win while everyone else watches each other - say Frank or Mollema or Peraud

Wrong break of 4 riders for this stage, Jungels, Kwiatkowski, Boasson Hagen and Westra. Have they got their road book mixed up?

I'm not so sure. If Sky and the rest don't care and give them a lead over the Tourmalet I think they could make it. It's very unlikely but you never know.

Kwiatkowski, Westra, Jungels and EBH have a 20 second advantage.

Won't stay like that. Frenchies will bridge across
That is an odd break.

Westra, Jungles and Kwiat though, maybe Uran, Mollema and Nibali have plans? :p

Replace Nibali with Fuglsang and you're right.

Nah, this break won't be allowed to go, but looking at the makeup of teams like you mentioned, this stage might be eventful after all.....

Cannondale, FDJ, Giant, Lampre have all been reported to be working at the front but the gap is staying at 30 odd seconds. Looking at the break that is some decent firepower. Riders are better off trying to bridge across rather than have their teams chase. The 4 will probably slow down for riders coming across.

You could see some very big name riders attacking from a long way out in the coming days in order to try to make big time gains. Also, to try to isolate Sky as well. They are the clear target and I think the are definitely going to find themselves under attack now. There will be almost a coalition of 21 teams against them.

Please, please make it happen!

Agree. There's a lot of flat road power in that quartet. Not easy to peg them back.

Yep, that's the case. I'm sure that sooner or later your investments on education will allow you to realize that there are better things to do than keep complaining in the wrong thread when you have an entire section to discuss about what you want. And another whole section to discuss about rules themselves.
And if you wonder how one deletes his own account, I'm here to help.

Nicolas Portal: "Better not spend too much today"

Team Sky's directeur sportif Nicolas Portal spoke to letour.com prior to the start. “We'll have to keep the situation under control and monitor everything today”, the Frenchman said. “We knew that after the rest day, there could be an opportunity. Today it's a difficult stage but a standard one with Aspin and Tourmalet that everyone knows. The final climb isn't very hard. The stage is suitable for a breakaway. We'll look at preserving our advantage without spending too much energy because tomorrow it'll be the hardest stage of the Pyrenees and it can cause big damages if we spend too much today.”

Thats what I said.
