you have to ask the question at what point does cycling in its current form become untenable as a sport? its closer to demolition derby than anything else now. at this rate the GC winner will be the only man standing in paris with his collarbone in one piece

It's all about keeping your captain safe these days, but people need to relax. It's only bike racing. When I see the big teams riding in perfect formation at the front of the peloton, I kind of miss the "old" days. But then again, the first week of the Tour was pretty boring back then.... you can't have everything.

Contador crashes but he is up and on his way again. All the big names have crashed except Froome. It is clearly his year.

Wonder if Lotto will keep it together for the intermediate sprint? 66km in, surely they won't let the break go.

All these amateur bike handlers. Should be asking Froome for some pointers on how to stay upright =p

A couple of local guys in the break.
This might stick longer than expected.
What's Durasek searching there? KOM points?

Maybe Lampre has finally switched into their suc6-mode: Attacking & stage hunting!

Hardly the one for Kristijan today.
Sponsor's request, maybe.

Aaaahhh, I get it...
He's there so the media in his home country shouldn't begin sport reports tonight with Djokovic.

I don't like inconsistency. In the past they have forced people to wear yellow. Now its ok not to. FFS, make a rule and stick with it ASO.

That said, no yellow jersey is imo better than having the person who was in 2nd at the end of the stage wear it.

Can you give me an example of when the yellow jersey DNS and the next in GC wore yellow?

Hint: It never happened...

There isn't any inconsistency.
