I can't make up my mind whether it's pathetic from climbers or surreal from Sagan.
It's ridiculous... Sagan will take the overall.
Sprints, the time trial, climbing with the specialist... he certainly has satisfied Olga.
It's ER, stuff. The clinic is a child's game.

Its ridiculous that there are so many stages where a guy like Sagan can build up a lead.

What a monstrous ride by Sagan.. He is just 3 seconds slower to retain his jersey. All in all, he throw a kitchen sink and suffered like a dog!! He is going to be useful then comes TDF if he keeps performing better in the mountain...

So what should the strategy be tomorrow for Sagan. Try and go for the intermediate or focus on the finishline?

Pick up a couple of seconds at intermediate and aim for 2nd in the finish (not beating cav).

Yeah but he will be tired as ILoveCycling says. Maybe just sit on Allaphilippes wheel making sure he does not get bonus seconds and then go for the finish as you say.

After today it wouldn't be a surprise if he will outsprint Cav. He's on fire.

i think so too. He wants to stick it to Mr. Olga! he certainly did. He took advantage of the ITT route change and seized the opportunity. Call it what you want. But the fact that he is only lost 2 seconds from GC lead, that was just awesome ride for someone like Sagan. Congrats to him and TS team.

This is freaking insane. WHAT A RIDE from Alaphilippe and Sagan.

Sagan must have pushed som great watt numbers considering he is something like 10 kg heavier than most of the other riders.

... and that's AMGEN Tour of Cali - hard to invent better fitting main sponsor to point out the "clinical punch" of the main heros (clue: edgar)

Oh shove it.

Motivation. I have never seen Sagan to go so deep. This is His way to say Oleg: *** off. I am afraid this is the last tíme we saw Sagan climbing like this.

After their apparent domination and control of this stage Sky came up with SFA. Some of their strong men rode themselves into the hill for absolutely nothing. Sometimes good individual efforts can trump a strong team. :D

Sagan, what a beast. He deserves to win this race.

Yes INDEED!

Wow, what a ride by Sagan. What a talent. He can ride on almost any terrain, win sprints, TTs and maybe even week long GC.

The the "Alpha-Phillip" is no slacker either. Two very talented guys to battle for the GC till the end. What else can we ask for.

But Sagan, he definitely is the "Chosen One"!

And he got a message for Libertine :D

Never ever liked time bonuses but to have them on some stages but not others has always been stupid.

FWIW disagree, but from the other direction: I'd be happy not to have time bonuses on flat stages because who cares if Kittel is 2 secs ahead of Greipel and 4 ahead of Kristoff, etc

I kind of exactly completely disagree. This has been the most interesting thing to happen in the ToC for years (ever?). At least gc didn't come down to a single 20 minute effort up a single hill.

Alaphilippe champion! Sagan champion! What a battle it was. I hope Sagan takes the race tomorrow. He gave everything today, he was completely spent. While I'm shocked too, as it was pointed out it's not the first time he has done this. In Tour de Suisse he was at ease on the 1st cat. climb with only the best climbers left and with much better competition. He has done many amazing rides before. Just a phenomenal rider and athlete.
