Was I the only one to think Dumoulin wouldn't crack today?

nope.

stages like today he won't crack. It's those stages with 4-5 mountains that will trouble him

Not sure why anyone expected anything from this stage? The profile is *** and it's the vuelta...

van Garderen loses 1 minute. Froome and Landa 30 seconds.

Quite some victims.

So Aru vs. Valverde vs. Quintana?
What about Purito ;)
And I also wouldnt forget Majka, he was really good

Well, he was there you know. Really on his limit, but still there. And in the next days, the weather will be worse, with rain in Andorra stage. That suits Purito even better :D

But more then a top-5 isn't possible, for sure. I just hope for a stage win.

Froome, Landa (disappointing), Van Garderen, Moreno all lost time.

The Vuelta well on its way to podiuming the "worst GTs of the decade" competition.

I'll still honour that, even if I'm slightly less confident now. But it will be the multi mountain stages that really trouble him

Landa is playing safe, he already has his contract. Next year we'll see the real Landa. He's still gonna win 2 stages in this vuelta.

Aru doing what he does best: power effort on a 7% percentage climb in a not so difficult stage. This is where he excels. Don't overreact on his performace.

Why? That was the first real mtf and the first two 3rd category finishes were pretty good. Moreover its hard to win against the 2012 tour/giro

To all the "Aru has no chance because he has never climbed stronger than any other top tier rider" guys: In your face
Amazing 7 seconds he got there today because he was allowed to. Unbeatable. Second rate GC guys like Aru, and third rate GC guys like Majka, have very little chance against the Big guns
Why would the Movistar allow one of the freshest favourites 7 seconds in a Vuelta where the winner could be anyone and the difference probably very small?

Froome showed up because it's good for PR. He has no business winning in Spain, still a long way from dawg to badger.
