On the climb to Chalet Reynard, what direction will the wind be mostly? Tailwind?

wind from N-NW, so mostly sidewind from the left... they can even be a bit sheltered by the mountain itself or trees, but once the road turns northwards towards the end there can be action-killing headwind

Don't know why people get so concerned about things like this tbh.

You already get severely screwed when you get a random puncture, I don't see any reason why you should screw them over further. Just makes zero sense to me.

inconsistency in judging those situations. they often let it slide and now won't allow even a 1 second of split-stream after bike change of top10 rider. wonder what would happen if he was French.

Lol he could have just waited 10 km's and changed bike on the cat. 4 climb. He would have had no trouble getting back to the group then.
The cheating of drifting in the slipstream of the team car, the "oh hang on to the car, we have to fix something on your bike...", or the sticky bottles. You take your pick.

The race is funded mainly by towns along the race route, and so the TV coverage needs to show certain landmarks along the way in order to satisfy the local tourist boards.
The race is all one big promotional show, after all...
